I'm sure these have been covered. Tried using the search feature but it would'nt work. Anyhoo.. I have a rate for a mid size suv for 9 days in mid June for $132. I need to adjust the pickup time but don't want to lose the rate. Should I call or, can I adjust it online without losing the rate?

How does online check-in work? Should I wait until the day before we arrive or should I do it now? Do I get charged as soon as I check-in or when I return the car?

Thanks in advance.

What I do is go through the process of making a new reservation. If the total amount stays the same or is lower, I book the new reservation and cancel the old one.

But if the new reservation is the same price, you should be able to adjust your current reservation.

I've only used on-line check-in once. It was nice because we were able to bypass the counter. I'm pretty sure our credit card wasn't charged until we returned the car. I know you can check-in up to 30 days in advance, but I waited until the day of our flight.

I have gone though the process of a new ressie and, I cant touch the price I have now. Even with discount codes the price is $50 more than I have now.

Call and they will adjust the times for you. This happened to me just the other day. They will tell you that your rate should stay the same (doing it online), but mine didn't either.

Get it in writing. I wouldn't trust their word over-the-phone.
