Has anyone rented a Mini Van from Alamo recently? I want to know what is available and what is the condition. Are their vans in GREAT condition or just OK condition? I called Alamo and was told they have Dodge Caravan, Toyota Sienna, and Chrysler Town and Country. This is my first mini-van rental and I am looking for experienced mini van renters to tell me what to expect. I have 7 people total to fit. 2 people are over 6 foot tall. There are 5 adults and 2 kids (ages 5 and 8) But we will need to fill all the seats with 3 large pieces of luggage and 3 small carryons. Experienced mini-van renters, help me out please.

1. Can I fit all 7 people plus luggage?
2. Are any of the mini vans more roomier (Looking at pics I like the Toyota)
3. If you rented recently, did you have a newer one? (2011?)

Our rental last year was a Chevy Impala. It was an 2008 model and it wasn't in the best shape. The key fob stopped working too and we took it back to the airport and traded it for a Chevy Malibu which was less roomy but was BRAND NEW!!! I'm talking like 200 miles on the vehicle. I want comfort and a nice ride with the mini van. But I don't want an OLDER one. Yes, I already know I am being picky!! Thanks in Advance !!!

We have rented 5 minivans from Alamo in the past 8 months. All were Town and Country's or Grand Caravans. It has been years since I have seen a Toyota on the lot.

The T&C and GC both are extended minivans and have seating for 7 and room for bags behind the back seat. Many have stow and go... meaning they have storage under the floor boards. I would think they would be fine for you.

They have all been brand new (just a few thousand miles) My inlaws rented one with 18000 miles.

Have a great trip!

Rented a minivan from Alamo March-April earlier this year. Had our choice of many Toyota Siennas. The one we rented had 800 miles, so was basically new. All (maybe 5-6) were in like new condition. They are very big. I bet you could fit seven people and luggage in it. Key is to not pay an arm and leg for a minivan rental. Prices sometimes can be out of sight! Have a great trip!

Very cool to see Toyotas back... we rented one 6 yrs ago and loved it. I imagine they are better now!

GREAT!!!! Thanks for the info!!! I am really hoping for a Toyota Sienna. From what I see online, they look roomier to me and seem to have nicer interiors. I am glad to hear Alamo has more of them in stock than I thought. And, the best deal I could find was thru Alamo Insiders, $350.16 which includes taxes and fees for 10 days (8/24 - 9/3). And I was very happy with that. Considering now the prices are back up to $500 - $700 !!!!
:thumbsup2
