So how exactly do these work? What information do you have to input and do you add your additional driver on that? Never used them before and would like to avoid the counter if possible. Thanks :)

Not sure what you mean by additional driver. Did you book a vacation package through Southwest?

The kiosks are mainly used to check-in and print your boarding passes (if you haven't already) and check your luggage.

If you are just using the kiosk to get your boarding pass and not checking luggage, then you enter your confirmation number, print your pass and head straight towards your gate.

If you are checking luggage, you will still need to go to the counter as the SWA attendants will need to put the stickers on your bag, and make sure your bag is not over weight.

If you booked a rental car and are adding a driver, as far as I'm aware, most rental car companies will require you to go to the counter as they will need to verify the 2nd driver's information.

The SW kiosks have nothing to do with rental cars, only your actual flights.

Sorry my mistake. I have had my flight on the brain the last few days. Meant to put Alamo Kiosks. Thanks.

Never rented from Alamo. Sorry can't help you there.

You can always go to your first post and edit the title. This might help get you more responses.

I did a google and it connected me to Alamo's website FAQ's regarding kiosks.

You can input all your driver information, plus add additional drivers.

Thank You. I can't figure out how to change the title. It takes me to the body of the letter but not the title.

I love the kiosks. You just follow the screen prompts, enter your info, swipe your credit, select what options or insurance you want then head to the garage to select your car. Much faster than going to the counter. Best of all....no pressure to purchase the add-ons.

I just used the Alamo Kiosk on Mon. Everything went well until it was time to print the paperwork and it had run out of paper. :sad1:You just have to follow the directions. There are instructions about scanning the drivers license and credit card. There's a couple of screens for adding or declining insurance etc. Just make sure the final amount is what is shown on your reservation.
So because there was no paper I had to go to the desk anyway.

The only problem I've encountered with a kiosk was, that it wouldn't read the bar code on my drivers license. I tried and tried and it wouldn't read it, meanwhile the line had grown at the counter to 5 people with one desk agent. I tried another kiosk because nobody was using any of them, and thankfully it wasn't my license but the kiosk. I swiped my license and went through all the screens adding my spouse all in about 3-4 minutes. Those kiosks are the reason why I continue renting from Alamo, I hate waiting in line.

We have used the Alamo kiosks for years, I LOVE them. However, I always use the "fast break" or whatever they call it where you input your DL, credit card information before leaving home. Then you simply scan the bar code on the print off, decline the insurance and go.

We love using the kiosks. They are quick and easy, so you are on your way in no time.
