Alamo Insider Question

Hi Folks:

I signed up for Alamo Insider and received membership number, but not the card yet. Can I print out the email and go directly to the garage?

I didn't use the insider code when I rented the car.

You can only skip the line at the airport rental car counter and head straight to the garage if you use the online check in, otherwise you will need to check in at the counter, or at the Kiosk next to the counter, then proceed to the garage.

It's been a while since we've rented from Alamo but there should be a way to add your Insider number to your current rental reservation.

Heh, landed on this one via Google. Anyway, just booked a last-minute rental and I used my Insider code already and am using the "SaveTime" online check in.

Now before I tear my place up looking for the one from last time, do they even have physical cards?

Nope no card needed. We used the kiosk to rent our car in last May and no card was needed. Remember you signed up for the Insider using your name as long as your name is the one on the reservation then there is no need for a card. Your drivers license will provide proof that you are the person associated with the Insider membership.

Tim if you did not use your Insider member number then you are missing out on the discounted rate for members and the ability to use the $30 off coupon for Insider Members.
I would make a new reservation using your Insiders ID and the $30 off code. Then cancel the other reservation if the new one is less than the first rental you have reserved.

Yes, they have physical cards, but, you don't really need it. Just have your member number with you if you have it, otherwise we can use your driver's license number. We can do some pretty amazing things with just a driver's license number.

The only way that you can go straight to the garage to get your car is if you check in online and print your reservation. In order to check in online you must not be using any coupons with your reservation.

You would be amazed at the number of people that show up at the exit booths with just a reservation confirmation. Apparently people don't read the part that tells them what they need to do. We can process them, but, it is totally unfair to those behind them in line who have waited in line at the counter to have to wait, yet again, behind someone to ignorant to read or who thinks that the instructions do not apply to them.

People do not have to print their reservation after they check in online, we can access their reservations via their license or, if they just give us the reservation number. The reservation number makes it a lot quicker.
