Alamo extra person fee

Hi there,
I know with National there is the Emerald Aisle and you get to add someone to the rental for free. Is there such a thing for Alamo. Me and my well I guess he'll be my husband at the time will be going to Hawaii on our honeymoon and are renting a car through Alamo. Now we won't have any proof we're married at this point as I will not have done the name change form or have a copy of a marriage license so the spouses added free won't apply unfortunatley.

So more or less does Alamo having something like the Emerald Aisle?

You can add an additional driver (I assume that's what you mean) to an alamo ressie if you're a member of their "insider club" for no charge.
If you aren't a member, simply go to their website and sign up - signup is also free.

Make sure you book the reservation using the Insider ID code. It will automatically add to the reservation once you log in on the website. If change the ID number to get a different discount they won't give you the free additional driver. I even asked about it at the rental counter last time and they said the same.

On your wedding day you will sign the marriage cert. You can always take a picture of it as proof of marriage!

We just returned from our trip and rented with Alamo for the first time. I joined Alamo Insiders, but when I booked the reservation I used a Visa 20% off code and a $40 off coupon. My reservation did not indicate a free additional driver, so I called. I was told that Insiders automatically have a spouse as a free additional driver. When we picked up the car and stopped at the booth before exiting, DH was driving (res. was under my name). The attendant said "I see you're an Alamo Insider, so I'll enter DH as an additional driver at no charge."

When you rent with Alamo you have the option of "Save Time" on your online confirmation. Do not enter DH as an additional driver here, or it will charge you $9.99/day. I made the mistake of doing this, then had to call and have res. modified.

Good to know! Did you use the kiosk and then just ask at the exit gate?

Yes, I checked in at the kiosk. When we got to the booth the attendant asked for drivers license and we both handed ours over. She added DH without me mentioning it, and said he was a free add'l driver.
