Whats up with Alamo? Seems like EVERY coupon that i enter it says something like "limit exceeded". Anyone have any coupons that work for December 13-17?
Nope. Multiple complaints and posts about this issue in the last few months. It would appear they are no longer accepting coupons at MCO. That and their super duper dysfunctional website has driven me to rent from Dollar for a better rate and much less frustrating experience. It's a shame really because they were my favorite and we used them on every trip. But for the last 2 trips I've gone elsewhere and will continue to do so.

Surprise, Surprise.... I just called Alamo to see if they could try putting in ANY of these coupons that I have & I told them of the issue.
The rep said she just got off the phone with someone else who was having problems, but that they weren't aware of any problemsThen she called the help desk and spoke with a supervisor who also claims that this is the first they have heard of the issue.
I said "sorry, but there is NO way that is possible. This has been an ongoing issue for months with multiple customers complaining via telephone & email".
Were they able to get them added for you?
Actually, they do accept coupons at MCO, however, the coupons have a capacity limit, similar to cheap airfares. Only so many rentals are allowed with the specific coupons.
I don't have problems with the web site, but, I really don't like it as much as the National website or the old Alamo.
Ok but when you hit capacity check on EVERY coupon, two of which I tried within a minute of them coming in to my email, and one of which was a birthday offer and specific to me, that indicates to me that they just aren't taking them anymore.
I didn't have this problem until the last 6 or 8 months.. now I can not ever get a single coupon to work. I think they've just stopped taking them. I haven't seen anyone report being able to use a coupon at the MCO location in months.
hmmm.... I keep pricing this out & the coupons make NO sense to me.
It will allow me to use a coupon for car upgrade when I use my "insiders" code, but when I take out the "insiders" code & put in either "sunpromo" or "7015223" (bjs membership) it tells me coupons are not valid at this location.
Need the car for:
pick up:mco 12/13 11am
return: 12/17 4:30p.
Coming up at $178 for a compact.
All other coupons are NOT working. (I tried United coupons, Visa, Mastercard, Bjs), etc...

You are outside the dates for Sunpromo. It ends on 12/15/2013. Costco's promo ends 11/17/2013. Right now, the only valid coupons are for upgrades from Compact to Mid and from Mid to Standard and they that one works fine. They say they are not valid at that location because they are outside the valid dates.
Anything is possible and I am going to check on the coupons. I am wondering if they are not accepting coupons from Canadian renters. Corporate locations are under the "rule" of corporate. MCO is corporate. As I said, I am going to check on this. I still have quite a few friends in management there. It's letting me book the Sunpromo (which I have a reservation with right now) for 12/13/13 to 12/22/13. I don't know why, and I don't know how, but it did. And every time I go to check it's still allowing it. My only thought is that it's letting me because my rental starts before the promo ends.
As far as the coupons. I know they used to take them.. I used them all the time. What I am saying is that the overwhelming evidence in the last 6 months at least is that they are severely limiting them or not taking them at all. Read the December thread, and it was the same in the August thread. Sure it comes up as "Capacity Check" but if nobody is ever reporting a coupon going through for months and months it points to something different. It could be a website issue. Someone on the December thread spoke to Alamo and all they said was it was up to each individual location if they wanted to accept the coupons or not. It appears something has changed since you were there.
This is NOT the first they have heard about it - they've heard about it plenty from me! Yesterday I actually received an email from the manager at MCO who thanked me, but said (basically) sorry, we can choose whether or not we want to accept coupons.
I have yet to find any that work at MCO, including the one I JUST got for an upgrade. Other locations yes, MCO, no.
Which manager? There are quite a few there.
I'm American & they won't accept coupons..don't think its a Canadian thing...
If you get any info can you please post? thanks!
Oh, I had a reservation that I had made with a $30 United Airlines coupon back in June. When I went to Alamos site to pull up my reservation it said that "this coupon is no longer valid at this location" even thought I had already booked this months ago!!! Not right....if their website accepted this coupon months ago, they should stand by it.
Of course I will post any info I get.
My advice: If you make a reservation and it takes the coupon, print it out immediately and keep it. They will honor the rate. I have heard of this accepting coupon and then saying it was not accepted when people checked their reservation. And, you are correct, it is not right and the website is a mess. Did you use the reservation you made last June or is it still pending?
