Alamo coupons?

I'm American & they won't accept coupons..don't think its a Canadian thing...
If you get any info can you please post? thanks!

Oh, I had a reservation that I had made with a $30 United Airlines coupon back in June. When I went to Alamos site to pull up my reservation it said that "this coupon is no longer valid at this location" even thought I had already booked this months ago!!! Not right....if their website accepted this coupon months ago, they should stand by it.

They do accept coupons at MCO. Just checked with my rental agent friend who has been there forever.

I called and was told that my current reservation which I have had for months now (using the Visa code), for my rental Dec, 7-17; would still be honored, but to print my reservation email as proof. I would not be able to do online check in because it doesnt recognize the coupon as valid any longer, but that so long as I had my confirmation/reservation already in the system it would be no issue.

It's only $20 difference- and I already got a great deal on a minivan for the 10 days... but it's more about the principal for me. She confirmed that they may no longer accepting new reservations using coupons for this location, but that if a coupon was used to book an existing reservation- they would apply the discount.

Guess we will see! Hoping so! They are the only car rental company I like to deal with out of MCO!!!

You are outside the dates for Sunpromo. It ends on 12/15/2013. Costco's promo ends 11/17/2013. Right now, the only valid coupons are for upgrades from Compact to Mid and from Mid to Standard and they that one works fine. They say they are not valid at that location because they are outside the valid dates.

Actually someone just suggested on the Dec rental thread to try the Costco code 7014627 with the Alamo free upgrade code AU5224JAB. I was shocked it worked. I just got a full size car (with the free upgrade from a midsize) for $230.71 total with taxes and fees for Dec 6th-16th, which is the same price I got a few weeks ago through the Costco site for a midsize through Alamo. I've been trying since last summer to find any coupon that would work on the Alamo site and this is the first combo I've found.

Anything is possible and I am going to check on the coupons. I am wondering if they are not accepting coupons from Canadian renters. Corporate locations are under the "rule" of corporate. MCO is corporate. As I said, I am going to check on this. I still have quite a few friends in management there.

It's not just Canadiens. Alot of Americans (incuding me) have been complaining to them. Every time the response is the same. 'This is the first we've heard of any problems with the site'.:rolleyes2

My advice: If you make a reservation and it takes the coupon, print it out immediately and keep it. They will honor the rate. I have heard of this accepting coupon and then saying it was not accepted when people checked their reservation. And, you are correct, it is not right and the website is a mess.

You better believe I made a copy of the reservation as soon as it accepted it.:rotfl:
