Hello! When I tried to book Alamo with a coupon code from mousesavers, it stated on top of ressie page that I had entered a discount code that may require id. Do they really ask for coupons? How do you find out where the coupon originated from? Thanks!
If you got the code from Mousesavers it will say where the code came from and if an actual coupon is required.
Don't book a car with a code that you are unsure of. Some times you will be asked for the coupon and some times you won't. If you book with a code that they want the actual coupon and you don't have it the rate can then be changed to the current counter rate.

I have never been asked for any ID or coupon, but I have always had if needed. I would combine these two replies, saying that I generally would not lose sleep over it, BUT, be aware you could be asked and if not able to produce, be charged a higher than anticipated rate.
Ya...I didn't mean to sound so serious about it. I personally would not book something with out knowing where the code came from or if a coupon was needed. I have often used codes from these boards and from Mousesavers. I have never had an issue but I have not booked anything that said ID/coupon may be required.
It's all about each persons comfort level. I'm not a worrier but I am a micro planner so I know everything in detail before it happens....that's just me.
My coupon code was for $40.00 off! Thanks for all responses, what I've decided to do was to keep my original rental ressie with another company. This way if i have a problem with Alamo wanting a "coupon" that I won't have in hand, I'll just bite the bullet and play the rate game. If my original turns out the better deal I just walk a couple counters over.
