Alamo convertible

Chrysler 200, some Mitsubishi Eclipses are normally there. Premium type converts: Mustangs, Cameros, Saabs.

Thanks gmeh1! I too was wondering about this. Are the mustangs, camaros, and saabs on the convertible row or are they held in a different area? If we book a convertible are we only going to get a 200 or an eclipse?

If you book a convertible with Alamo/National your odds are GREAT that you will get the 200, OK for the Spyder... and slimmer for the others.

(I am actually surprised the Saab is still in the rotation, that's got to be aging on out there. I drive a Saab and love it, but they haven't made these in a few years sadly and now they are gone forever it looks like :()

I see Mustangs occassionally. Rarely see Saabs and while I have not really check in Orlando I can tell you that in most cities I never see Camaros so I wonder how big the fleet is for that.

(That said having driven all of these.. the Mustang is my least favorite. Worst trunk space, worst blindspots with top up. I thought my Saab had a small trunk until I got a Mustang, my trunk is GIANT by comparison LOL!)

The mustangs, camaros and Saabs are held in a different area, usually at the customer service area at Alamo.

I LOVE the Saab Convert and ours are 2012 9-3 models and, unfortunately, are few and far between.
The fleet for Camaros is small, not too many at all. The trunk for the Camaro is smaller than the Mustang or Eclipse. I love they way the 200 converts to a full size trunk when the top is up.
This will be the last year the Saab and Spyder are made. Sad for the Saab, no comment on the Spyder.

Thanks again for the info!

If they're held seperately, and I don't see the option on the site to rent them, how does one get to rent one of these "special" cars? Is it just luck of the draw? Or do you have to book a luxury car to get them?

Thanks again.

Skeeter, that is a GREAT question. I don't have an answer for you right now, but, let me check into it and get back to you.

At other cities I do see all of the options on the National convertible aisle. But not a huge selection.

We usually only have Chrysler 200s and sometimes the Mits. If they want anything other than that we take them over to Alamo to see what is available.

Ok, Skeeter, here's the answer. If you wanted one of the special converts, you book a regular convert and when you get to the rental site ask what is available. IE: camaro. They will tell you what they have and if you wish to upgrade at that time, you can. They will be able to tell you how much more it will be at that time.
