Alamo Cars and Classifications?

Hi all,

I did a quick search and couldn't really find what I was wondering, so apologies if this is a repeat of a previous discussion.

I'm currently holding 2 Alamo ressies for a mid-November trip. One is a full size, the other is a midsize. The prices aren't TOO different, but there's only three of us, so I suppose any saved money is worth.

My question is, what type of cars does Alamo typically have for those classes? I've read that they had been using Cobalts as mid-sizes, which I find hard to believe. I test drove one a few years ago and absolutely felt like I was crammed into it like a sardine can. So if that's what they're offering for mid-size, I'd much rather spend the extra cash and go with the full size.

The use chevy implas - toyota camerys as full size cars mid size i not to sure but yes proberly colbalts to toyota carollas There not too many toyotas in each class so they my not be there when you get there. I was surprised to see them use toyotas they had camerys, highlanders,carollas, fj cruises but they mostly use gm cars some fords but mostly gm brand cars.

We always use the midsize option, and always end up with a chevy hhr, which is a great car, lots of room there are 3 (one is 6) but we've gotten 4 adults plus 6y/o in with no fit issues. You'll see a lot of pt cruisers, some dodge calibers. They usually have a good selection on hand.

We always pick the fullsize option.

Our experience has been that the midsized cars can be a little cramped -- and there are usually (not always) more brand choices for fullsized. But the price difference has been small. If there price difference were large -- we'd probably consider midsize.

(Last two times we've selected Chrysler Sebring.)

Just got back from our trip a few days ago. We rented a midsize and picked out a Ford Focus. The trunk held all of our luggage -- two large rolling duffles, one small rolling carry-on bag, and two laptop bags -- but there wasn't room for much else.

We also saw a Toyota Corolla and a couple of Mazda something-or-others in the midsize aisle as well as a few PT Cruisers.

Can't remember all the midsize models I saw a few weeks ago, but I picked a Pontiac G6. I don't think anything we saw would be considered too small for 3 adults, and I definitely did not see any Cobalts on the midsize aisle.

Sounds like maybe I'll end up keeping the full size. One of my best friend's has a Ford Focus, and it feels cramped when there's more than two of us in it. Add onto that probably six pieces of luggage and some purses and backpacks, bigger trunk space sounds like a good idea.

we are only 2 people but got a fullsize chevy impala last year and loved it! If its a difference of a few bucks I would go for the fullsize.

We have a "standard" size booked at MCO with Alamo. Seems to be between a mid and full size. Is there even a standard aisle, and what type of cars? TIA
