are the Alamo and National rental car locations close to each other at MCO?

I am an emerald aisle member and an insider member - currently have 2 reservations, one for each. Is there any way to check out the cars on the emerald aisle and if they don't have anything I like to go ahead and take the Alamo car? Do I have to go back into the airport to use the Alamo kiosk or can you get the car out in the garage? The Emerald aisle is cheaper but I am sort of picky about the car.

They are exactly side by side - even touching. :goodvibes In fact, once I didn't like any of the cars available at National and the National garage employee had me go over to Alamo's lot to see if I could find anything I liked.

Car locations are close but the cars are up in a parking garage across the street from the rental counter.

If you can pull off what rlduvall did , then it is no problem.
What time is your arrival for pick-up? Maybe at a less busy time you could pull that off.

The counters are side by side in the terminal.
The cars are on the first garage level on both a&b side, right next to each other. In fact on B side, the compact row abuts the Emerald Aisle. It is very easy to look at both companies cars.
On A side, there is walkway between the two companies.
Not sure where you go the info that they " are up in a parking garage".

If you don't use the kiosk before you go into the garage and you find something you like on the Alamo side, you will have to go back and use the kiosk.
I understand being picky, but, if you don't see somethig you like at National, just ask and see what they can do for you. What did you rent? If you are on the EA, the cars there will usually be the newer lower mileage ones. It could happen that the ones at Alamo are newer with low mileage also, but, they stock the EA with them first. Does this make sense? :)

Sorry.........first garage level = parking garage...to me

Here's a question for you.

We are looking for only a Mini-Van...so worrying about picking are own car, isn't that big of deal right. All the different car agencies have just about the same make and model right? Dodge Caravan's? Any of the agencies have any other makes and models of mini vans besides that , that we should be looking for?

I questioned the location because some agencies are on the 2nd and 3 rd floor and require quite a trek to get to them, IE: ez car rental.

Alamo, Enterprise and National have: Caravans, Towne and Country, Nissan and 8 pax Siennas they also have Sedonas. The Nissan and Sedona are available in very limited quantities. My fav. is the Towne and Country, just an awesome mini van. The Sienna costs more than the others cause it hold 8 pax but has limited luggage capacity.
As to the other rental companies, I really cannot say, I never worked for them or really paid attention cause.......they are not on the first floor. LOL :)

If I use the kiosk for Alamo in the terminal - does that mean that I will be charged for the Alamo car? Or does the actual rental paperwork (charging to the card card) get done at the exit gate?

National since it is emerald aisle - if I remember correctly the rental paperwork is done at the gate.

National and Alamo have separate kiosks in the terminal.
All the final paperwork for both agencies are done at the exit gate. The initial reservation is handled online (for alamo), the kiosk or the counter.
EA members can ignore the above and proceed to the aisle or row, depending on the reservation. Once you have selected your vehicle, proceed to the exit agent.
For all: you will be asked for your license and credit card at the gate. Also, any additional drivers must be present in the car and present a valid driver's license.
Additional information will be required if you are using a debit card for an Alamo rental.
