Aladdin's final performance on January 10, 2016

Frozen has some mighty big shoes to fill! Aladdin is such a terrific show, and I love everything about it! With such visual awesomeness in Aladdin, I wonder how they are going to make Frozen dazzle audiences. I definitely had an "awww!" moment when I saw the news yesterday, but I have no negative feelings about it. I made sure to let my co-workers know that they better get their hustle on before January!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I'm not going to believe it until it actually closes. With Disney, nothing is set in stone?? Right?!!!!!!!!!!! :(

So sad!!!! Aladdin is the best show we have ever seen on any Disney property. Last time they said they said they were getting rid of it, a few years back, we even cancelled at WDW trip and went to DLR instead so that DD could see it before it was gone, as she had never seen it. They have overdone Frozen to the point where even the kids are getting burnt out on it. DD, started out as a huge Frozen fan, but her displeasure started when they gave Elsa the Castle lighting show of CINDERELLA's castle at WDW and took it away from Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother. Since then, she has felt like she has been bombarded with Frozen by Disney to the point, where when I told her about the Frozen show taking over Aladdin's spot she actually said the shocking words "I HATE FROZEN". This is big for someone that has more Elsa and Anna dolls of different types and styles around the house than I can probably count.

I have to say that although I get that it has been there for over 10 years and they are thinking it is time for a change, that I am a little surprised that change is coming now. The timing seems wrong to move away from Aladdin. Aladdin is a huge hit on Broadway right now and there is a lot of renewed interest in it. The Theatre at CA certainly seems to have been full every time we have ever seen it. They are getting ready to re-release Aladdin on DVD. The Disney Store has been flooded with new Aladdin merchandise in recent weeks. It seems like now would be the time to KEEP Aladdin while it is at the forefront-- not dump it right when Aladdin is hugely popular again.

Yes, but things are set in ice. (Technically I have a feeling that nothing is set in stone EXCEPT Frozen. They seem to be forgeting that oversaturation can drive people away. Even at DL this summer, DD said "There's too much Frozen". She was not pleased that the theatre by Fantasy Faire now only has a Frozen show, when there is already the Frozen sing-along at CA. Of course, we did go see Olaf twice during our trip!)

Dear Disney,

I have a son. Many of us do. And they do NOT like Frozen. He puts up with it for the sake of his sisters. He even kinda like Olaf if you ask him. But to have yet another Frozen show/attraction is not what the boy needed. Aladdin reaches both boys and girls in my family. A perfect fit for all of us. If you do add a Frozen show, can there at least be a scene where Iron Man flies in and blows up a few ships or something?

We love Aladdin and enjoy seeing it each trip. Going to make sure that we catch it in Dec before it is gone. :(

Jungle Book would be a great show, or if they want a princess show there is Tangled, Princess and the Frog. Heck, even Cinderella or Snow White. I never understood why Disney latches on to certain properties and drops others. Sad that they've told so many great stories and discard them after a few years.

Oh no!! I LOVE the Aladdin show! We don't have plans to go back before January, so sad I won't be able to see it again :(

Aww- this makes me a little sad, glad we were able to see it one last time this May. I don't necessarily mind Frozen, but it does feel oversaturated. I prefer some variety, and Aladdin really did a good job at that.

Well that is too bad, we will miss it by 4 days :( Frozen is out of hand, I think people are getting tired of it as all the merchandise is either on sale or being cleared out. Enough is enough.

Well, I guess the fact I am waiting to see the Frozen show before pasing judgment puts me in the minority. Aladdin is a great show, but they can't really sell it on Broadway if there is already a watered down version of it playing in their parks included with admission.

I don't think they've had any problems. Aladdin on Broadway is consistently a sell-out. Having just seen it myself a couple of months ago, you can't even compare the two; the Broadway version is so very different from the DCA version.

Super aggravated to hear Frozen is making yet ANOTHER appearance in the parks. I can see wanting to change things up after 12-13 years of the same show, but there's so many other films that have already been successfully adapted into musicals (Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins) and aren't oversaturated in the parks that they could have replaced Aladdin with instead! Consider me bummed. :(

While we LOVE Aladdin...Frozen 2 is coming out - this is smart of Disney to keep Frozen in kid's minds. And I'm neutral as my DD doesn't really care about Frozen, she'll watch it, but doesn't ever ask for it and has never identified with the characters. We've even been to Sweden and I told her we were near where Frozen was based and she could have cared less.
I used to work in the Hollywood industry and many, many executives running studios are all about recycling ideas, it's easy money to just re-use an idea and hope a new generation (even if only 5 years apart) loves it. And if it fails it "wasn't their idea to begin with". Disney can easily just run with Frozen for the next few years and still make a profit.

Also, the Aladdin cast is unionized which is rare in Disneyland so hopefully some of those talented performers will be able to make the move over to the Frozen show.

I have to agree with most of the posters, Aladdin is such a fantastic show and I hate to see it go. However, if they have to replace it, put a show like Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, or Tangled. There is definitely enough Froze and I was so sad to hear this news. Luckily we are going in a week or so and I can see Aladdin again. I love that show and I love seeing it from all different locations in the theater. Not a good move at all in my opinion.

Maybe they're just saying they're going to replace Aladdin with Frozen. Maybe they plan to replace Aladdin, and know that everyone will go into a lather with the news that it will be replaced with Frozen and then, miraculously, "the people will be heard" and they'll announce they're going to use a different musical instead. That would keep most of us from raising much of a fuss about replacing Aladdin.

Well, I can always hope.

Ugghh everything I want to try and do next summer is being taken away, we watched Aladdin last summer but never got to see the whole thing because toward the end of it they had technical difficulties :(

Will the Frozen cast be non union? It seems like large companies prefer to get away from the higher costs of union labor. Just wondering if that may also factor into the equation.
