We love the Aladdin show!

But when I checked the calendar for February, it is not on!

Is the show done, or on break, or just not on the calendar yet?

Thanks

It's not up for Jan either and we leave on Saturday. I've heard it's still on tho. You could call Disney direct and ask them. :)

I read that it is closing down :guilty: :sad2:

I can't remember now where I read it (somewhere on these boards) - it said it would be closing after the first of the year. We got through the crowds a couple days ago to see it one last time, just in case it's true!

I thought I read somewhere that it would only run 5 days a week and it would only have one cast. I could be remembering things wrong though.

Yea, I read the same thing. Apparently people think this because the calendar on disneyland.com doesn't show Aladdin being open.

Fortunately, it's not true. This is an email that went out to cast members about the entertainment offerings:

2009 Entertainment Offerings

12/30/2008

As The Year of a Million Dreams celebration comes to a close and the Disneyland® Resort heads into 2009, entertainment offerings and show times are being updated for the kick-off of "What will you celebrate?" Disneyland Park
- A Christmas Fantasy Parade and "Believe? In Holiday Magic" Fireworks Spectacular will run through Sunday, Jan. 4 to close out the holiday season.
- Disney's Princess Fantasy Faire will have its last showings of the Royal Coronation Ceremony and Disney Princess Storytelling on Sunday, Jan. 4. Disney Princess Meet & Greet will continue to remain at the Fantasyland Theatre.
- "Remember?Dreams Come True" Fireworks Spectacular will return to the skies above Disneyland® on Jan. 17-19 (Martin Luther King Jr. weekend) and Feb. 13-16 (President's Day weekend). The show is scheduled to make a full return in March 2009.
- Fantasmic! will continue to run daily through most of January and February. See The Hub for up-to-date information and times.
- Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams will not return to Disneyland® Park after the holidays. There will be no parades at Disneyland® Park after the holidays due to track work being done on Main Street, U.S.A.
- Celebrate! A STREET PARTY will make its debut down Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland® Park on March 27.

Disney's California Adventure Park
- Disney's Electrical Parade will have its final run on Sunday, Jan. 4 at Disney's California Adventure® Park and will not return until June 12 for the summer season.
Beginning Monday, Jan. 5:
- Pixar Play Parade at Disney's California Adventure® Park will be dark on Mondays and Tuesdays.
- High School Musical 3: Senior Year ? Right Here! Right Now! will be dark on Mondays through Thursdays.
- Disney's Aladdin ? A Musical Spectacular will be dark on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
All entertainment offerings are subject to change without notice.

Aladdin runs every day except Wednesday and Thursday. According to people who have called Disney, Aladdin is open at least through February on that schedule.

You do have to watch out for cheerleaders though. They sometimes rent the Hyperion and shut the show down temporarily during the spring. So if you see packs of cheerleaders running around in the parks then you need to check if the show is running.

i got a reply from disney that it was showing in jan, so i think its just not on the calendar. this is the jan schedule

They are repaving Main Street and redoing the tracks as well. No fireworks or parades during this time. They will not restart until the end of March. The fireworks will be shown on Presidents Day weekend, the 14th-16th.

i was told that around feb. that's a good time to go because it's less crowded except shows wouldn't be showing. so maybe that is what's going on with aladdin. they are just taking a break for that time.

I just got off the phone with a CM at Disneyland

For Feb:
No fireworks
No parades (the new parade is in rehearsal, starts in March/April, when Main Street is done)

But there is Fantasmic! and the Aladdin show is on most days. :cool1:

And there are surprisingly few Refurbishments...
POTC Feb 15-March 19
Matterhorn Feb 9-12, and 23-26
HM opens Feb 14
IASW opens Feb 4
Main Street is closed, must use sidewalks.

When I called today, I was told that there will be fireworks the weekend I am there (2/13-15) at 9:25 each night (Fri-Sun). Fantasmic is showing Thurs-Sun (2/12-15) at various times. Aladding is showing Friday thru Sunday, too. The calendar for those days says that the Pixar Play Parade is being done each day at DCA. The Princess Fantasy Faire and Jedi Training Academy are also being done each day. And, it looks like the Sun Wheel will be open 2/14 and 15, too. Hope this helps someone! It's looking great for us, b/c everything will be up and running at some point during our vacation! :cool1:

Who did you call to find out this stuff? I'll be there the week before you: 2/8-10.

Seems that Pixar Play Parade will be Sunday only that week, and no info on Fantasmic or Alladin on Disneyland.com calendar. I'd love to know the phone # you used.

I called Guest Relations--714-781-7290

That is the same phone number I used.

When I asked why the calendar wasn't showing Fantasmic, etc.. yet, he says to me "We don't have the rest of the year up yet" I was like, dude, that is only one month away!!

We are excited to go to the Aladdin show and our vacation package gives us Preferred Seating. How does that work?

I'm ok with the no parades in DL. But I'll be there Feb 8-9, and I can't believe they'd have no parades in either park on Feb 9th. (Pixar Play Parade not happening!) I'm surprised they'd let both go dark on same day.
