I haven't seen a thread about this, but I thought this was interesting. I'm not Mormon, but I would have been a little
if I was.

Sharpton Criticizes Romney, Romney Replies
By KATHERINE AMENTA -- WMDT 5/10/2007
Just weeks after Al Sharpton criticized Don Imus for his politically incorrect remarks, the tables have turned on Sharpton. During a debate on religion and politics with atheist author Christopher Hitchens, Sharpton made a comment about republican presidential hopeful, Mitt Romney. Romney's a Mormon.
Sharpton said, "As for the one Mormon running for office, those that really believe in God will defeat him anyway, so don't worry about that. That's a temporary situation."
Wednesday, Romney responded.
He said, "I don't know what exactly his intent was but his comment was a bigotry comment. It shows that bigotry still exists in this corner. I think that's the most unfortunate comment to make."
Sharpton says his remarks were taken out of context and he was actually trying to say that other believers would not vote for Romney for purely political reasons.
