COuld anyone tell me anything about these...? Are they value because they are smaller or because of the view or both..?? We are thinking of booking three days here and cant decide if we should spend the extra points on a standard view at Kidani or value at Jambo..?? Thanks.

They are smaller and are located only a Jambo house. I've tried to get one of these at least 4 times during non-holidays or slower times of the year, but have never been able to book one at the 7 month window. I don't think there are very many of these units. I believe they have many different views, but also read that you can not make any requests when booking these units.

The are Value because of the size. They are approx. 3 feet shorter than the other studios in Jambo House. They can have either a savanna view, pool view or parking lot view. Here's a map of the Jambo House rooms. The Values are along the Giraffe & Ostrich Trails.

We lucked into one last minute in nov. It was a great deal. We had me, my mom and dd4. Location is excellent (close to lobby). We had a nice pool view. If I didn't know it was a "value" studio I wouldnt have even thought the room was small. It took some effort to find places for the couch pillows when making the sofa bed, but it was fine. Especially if you don't need to open the sofa bed, this is great.

AKL value studios are the best kept DVC secret, the best deal, as far as I'm concerned. Wait a minute-I'm calling February 25th to try to get one at 7 months-they're terrible, yechy-poo, at least until after I get one.

I just called ms this morning and got 3 nights in a deluxe studio in kidani bldg for mem day wk end for myself. My kids and mom for a just hang out at the resort trip. We've never stayed there and it will be our first dvc stay

I agree these are the best kept secret of DVC. We have stayed in the two bedroom and the studio. We don't mind the 3 feet shorter at all. We have had a Savanah View, a parking lot view and a Pool View. It really makes it possible to stretch your points. Oh, and the cushions from the couch, we put them on top of the armour(sp). They also don't have the pull out chair like the 1 and 2 bedroom has at Kidani.

The value size DVC rooms were converted from regular AKL rooms. The standard size DVC rooms were converted from AKL deluxe rooms.

After pondering my choice for akv-kidani studio for our may trip with my mom. I had to change resorts. Decided to go to our home resort. After looking online at akv thought it might be too hard on my mom. She has some health issues that cause her problems when walking too far. My kids are ok with it and we can try again another time when dh can come

For a 3 night June trip we got a value studio for nights #2 and #3, but for night #1 they were booked so we took a SV in Kidani, works out ok as it will guarantee one day of a SV and able to use all our points and still fit 3 nights in.. how big of a pain is it to switch rooms?? Will they move luggage for us?

Yes they will move your luggage for you. You will need to check out of the first room by 11am and your second room may not be ready until after 4.

Thanks... and thats fine, its a park day for us, will leave resort by 7:30, won't be back until later..

Sorry to hijack this thread.

Is it too tight for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 8 and 4?

We only have enough pts for a value stay, thinking about staying at BC with the 40% off pin.

We have stayed in these a few times, our kids were 6 and 4 last trip and we were fine for 12 nights, but we spent little time in the room just relaxing..

We actually called to clarify what the difference between a value room and stand room was, this is what we were told.

Value does not have the chair that converts to a bed. Can only sleep 4 ppl.
Standard has the chair. Making this able to sleep 5 ppl.

Hope this helps!

If you are talking about a 1 bedroom is you are correct. Standard studios do not have a chair and only sleep 4.

Value also has the possibility of a savannah. Standard at Jambo is pool view. Kidani standard if parking lot, pool or garden.

This is in the 1 bedroom, not the studio.

After reading all this... sounds like the value studios at Jambo really are a good deal.. even if it is smaller you still have a chance of getting Sav. View.. Is there a site that shows just how many value studios are sav.. pool ... and parking lot?

IIRC, there are 18 total studios - except that some are lockoffs and might wind up being combined with a value 1BR to make a value 2BR, which means fewer than 18 value studios are typically available.

40% sav view, 40% pool view and 20% parking lot view. (except if you wind up with parking lot view then it still feels like 100% parking lot view for you...;) )
