AKV Std. view question

Hi,

Was wondering if all studio standard views are of the parking lot or do some offer better views.

I can only answer for Kidani. We stayed in a standard view 1 bedroom next to a Studio lock-off. We were on an upper floor to the left of the front entrance when you are looking at the resort. Here are 2 pics--one looking left (toward the entrance) from the balcony and another looking right (toward the pool). Sorry, I don't have a straight ahead pic--but it would show the road leading to the resort, the bus stop and a view off to the distance (basically more of what you see in the distance in the pool view.)

Like the PP said, I can only speak for Kidani. Besides the parking lot and pool views, there are some standard rooms that have a partial savannah view. The downside to these rooms is that they are on the far end of the resort.

Our standard-view room in June overlooked the area where they house some of the animals at night, and we could also see a path the animals took to get from one savannah to another.

Personally, I prefer the parking lot view that we had in May. It just wasn't worth the trek from the lobby to be able to have a partial savannah view. We did have a couple of minutes in a pool view room (had to switch rooms...long story) and that seemed like the best view of all.

That's because all of the value rooms have the parking lot views. They don't have a value category like that at Kidani so the standard views are stuck with everything that is not a full savanna view.

I believe at Kidani, the standard view rooms can have views of the park lot, pool and or savanna view (more like a partial view of the savanna). You can request any of them but there are no guarantees of which view you will receive.

I have seen lots of photos of the parking lot, front entrance and even some of the savanna view for standard Kidani rooms, but never have I seen a photo of the pool. Can anyone post photos of their standard villa with a pool view?

Value room (DVC) are a different catogory than a standard room in Jambo House and can be either pool, savanah or parking lot view

That's so strange! It sounds more like they placed you in a Value room category. Every map I've ever seen of Jambo there are only a few DVC Units that face the parking lot and those are the value category. I believe it's 2 2BR's and 2 dedicated studios but can't locate my map at the moment.

Understood now and yes, the hotel portion views are different from the DVC. However the poster asking about this is inquiring about a DVC unit and the responses were for DVC units. All the Standard view DVC units at Jambo house currently face the pool. None face the parking lot which is how I interpreted your post since you quoted people who were referring to Standard View DVC Jambo views.

I have heard b/c of room classification changes that a few of previously classified Savanna views will now become Standard so after the end of this year a person might end up with a partial Savanna view at Jambo when they book the Standard. Either that or Pool view.
