AKV - Realistic Re-sale offer

I'm looking at an AKV resale of 100 points, asking price $77.00, no points available until June 2012. I think the price is really high considering that no points will be available until June of 2012...I'm considering putting in an offer of $68.00, am I being rediculous to do this? Should I go higher...lower?
I would love your input on this.

You can submit, but be ready for them to come back at you with a counter.
One condition I would put in would be for the seller to pay next years MF due to all of '11's already being used/gone.

Good points! Thanks for your input. They are asking $77, which seems high considering there are no points until 2012. I hadn't thought of the fact that 2011 points dues shouldn't be in the mix since there are no 2011 points, thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Go for it! I have been tempted to throw a $52/point at one of the $65 BWV contract. The contract you are talking about does not have 2011 MF in the final costs, but the fact that it is basically 2012 contract certainly gives you leverage. Good luck!

Great News, I had The Timeshare Store call the sellers with an offer of $67 a point, within 1 hour they had ACCEPTED!!!!!! Now if it passes ROFR, we will have 100 more Kidani points!

We are very excited...good grief...will we ever not feel giddy when we acquire more points!

Wish there was a cure...Dh keeps saying 'We need more points!'. I always respond with 'we have to pay the dues every year!'. Still...we're looking at it as a home away from home for retirement, so I"m sure we'll keep adding.

I have the opposite problem.. I am always the one telling my DH we need more points. I like the "home away from home" angle. Best of luck with ROFR, and be sure to let us know when you pass!

Yes, we got $4 off. I know $126 isn't a whole lot better than $130, but we bought the rest of our points at $108 so I could tolerate the high price for only 50 more points. I just tossed the sheet, but I do know for sure that the $ off was higher the more points you bought.

I was thrilled with it! I think the reason they accepted the offer was because it was a stripped contract. Most contracts I've seen in resale have all the current year points, and often banked points from the previous year. This contract had no 2011 points, only looking to 100 points coming in June 2012. I was still thrilled with it and am hopeful that it will pass ROFR.
