I was reading about the new Poly DVC on the member website, of course I was looking at comments as well. One poster stated that they like the concept of the new over the water bungalows at the Poly, however, their AKV membership that they puchased in 2013 excludes the Poly resort. WHAT???? Anyone have any idea what he's talking about? We own at AKV's and this is NOT stipulated on our contract. Just curious, as I've never heard of such a thing. :confused3

Not exactly. Anytime there is a resort under construction, they include wording on existing resort contracts that says the new resort may not be completed and do not purchase based on that resort being completed. My BWV contract in 1999 included the same wording for VWL.

There was one case where an announced resort was not completed - Eagle Pines (now the site of the Four Seasons/Golden Oak).

How can we know what the poster was talking about, when they do not know what they were talking about? LOL

2013...Disney had not even started the Poly DVC.

My guess is that he bought resale, which doesn't allow you to use your points at any of the Disney hotels, such as the Poly. And now, he has no clue what he's talking about.

I pulled out my 1999 BWV contract and here's what it reads:

"Disney Vacation Club at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is only a possible component site which may never be added to the Disney Vacation Club Multi-Site Timeshare Plan. Do not purchase an interest in a Disney Vacation Club Resort in reliance upon the addition of this component site".

So substitute Wilderness Lodge with Polynesian Village and that is most likely what he is reading.

This is my interpretation. A current resale owner cannot use points for Poly hotel stays. Sounds like someone (incorrectly) extrapolated that to mean that they couldn't stay at a Poly DVC either.

Thanks Everyone for the replies......... I figured it was someone who didn't know what they were talking about or just didn't explain it correctly. I just knew I'd never heard of it. :flower3:
