We will be leaving for our first trip to the AKV in 9 days and are staying in a 1-bedroom at Kidani! :woohoo:

Since I've read that views vary with room selection, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on specific rooms/room location to request?

I have already requested "sunset savannah view" but have been told that you can additionally request a floor/room number, and Disney will do their best to accommodate that request. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Not sure which category you booked, but a Savannah view is a specific category you book and pay for. You can make requests like, a room near the pool or lobby which may or may not be granted, but unless you have booked a Savannah view, it is unlikely that you will receive that view. I have stayed several times at AKL, (one of my favorite resorts) and even the standard view rooms are fine with me, since there are plenty of animal viewing areas all around the resort. I think the most popular request is to be close to the lobby. Best of luck and enjoy your time at WDW.

I recommend asking for Sunset Savannah on the 2nd or 3rd floor. If you have a car, it doesn't matter which building. If you do not have a car, you should ask to be closer to the lobby. Be warned everyone asks for this so, if you can, get there as early as possible to check in. It will increase your chances of being able to work with the CM to get what you want.

Which category did you book & pay for - that will let people help you make a better request.

We've had a 1BR at Kidani twice, both times with standard view. The first tmie we overlooked the entrance & bus stop, it was actually quite nice. The second time we had a partial view of the pool & savannah behind the pool. Not sure if that was an upgrade or not, since it was also a great view.

If you have a car ask to be near a elevator. Low floors are good for Animal spotting if you have a savannah view. Enjoy its a beautiful resort, we love it!

Hi! We are staying at Kidani Village in a one bedroom villa in Sept., I was sure we booked a savannah view but I just saw on our reservation it says "theme park view", I assume this means a savannah view since the theme park at Kidani Village would be the Animal kingdom.
Thanks,

We too are staying at Kidani this year and are booked standard since that is all that was available. I put in a request for a room overlooking the pool or to be close to the pool if possible.
