We were booked for a 1 bdrm at Kidani, but just decided to treat friends so I called MS this morning and booked a 2 bdrm , Kidani again, but it's a lock-off. Anyone have pros/cons dedicated vs lock-off? Also - anywhere I can look at floorplans?

Thanks!

The lockoff is basically a one bedroom + the adjacent studio.

The lockoff pros:
- Two doors to the outside hall way. Your guests can go about their day without disturbing you in the one-bedroom portion.
- The 2nd bedroom will have a kitchenette.
- A door that locks from either side of the 2nd bedroom.

The lockoff cons:
- Two doors to the outside hall way. Little children can sneak off in to the night without having to go through the living room.
- The 2nd bedroom will have a queen bed and a full sized sleeper sofa.

Dedicated Pros:
- A single door to the outside hall way - little children can't sneak off in to the night.
- The 2nd bedroom will have two queen beds instead of a queen + sleeper sofa.

Dedicated cons:
- Entry to the 2nd bedroom is only through the living room.
- If you only have a couple in the room it makes more sense to have the sofa instead of the 2nd queen bed.
- No kitchenette in the 2nd bedroom.
- The door between the 2nd bedroom and the living room doesn't lock from the living room side.

Since you are treating friends, I think it makes more sense to have the lockoff, since you can lock the door of the living room of your 1 bedroom for privacy at night. Also, they can get up and go about their business in the wee morning, or get back in the middle of the night, without disturbing you. They can get breakfast at the crack-of-dawn while you sleep until your wake-up call set for the crack-of-noon.

If they have multiple kids, it might be more comfortable for them to have the dedicated, since it will have two queen beds instead of a queen and a sleeper sofa. If there is just one kid, or two kids both under age 10, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you very much for the response....I appreciate the info and it has made me feel much better about the lock-off. I really want the trip to be nice for our friend....single mom, gone through heck with the x and the kiddos really deserve a break.....so thanks again! :thumbsup2

I think the additional kitchenette can be treated as a pro or con depending on how you look at it (space wise), but in either case, both rooms are great.
