AKV, here we come. June 1-8 11/15.. Finally BACK!

I totally agree about Space Mountain being so jerky!! We went on in May for the first time after the rehab and it seemed way jerkier than before the rehab! Of course I had expectations that the ride would be improved after the rehab so maybe it was all in my head?? I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that finds that ride rough....I was like bracing myself through the whole thing.

Sometimes it is rough and sometimes it's not. I guess it depends on where you sit. IDK. It bothered me because of my hair. My hair weighs a lot, so because I had it up, when my head would jerk around, it would hurt more with the weight of my hair on top of my head.

What awesome pictures you were able to get at the Magic Kingdom that morning, Lynn! Wow! I just adore the ones from the teacups and the Jungle Cruise!

The morning show is the best one at Disney! It always makes me smile! I think I kind of like Dale's new Tomorrowland outfit -- very retro-spacey (if that's a style! :lmao:)

When I first saw the picture of Tim holding his nose before I read the text, I thought you were going to say you had done Stitch's Great Escape. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why you would subject yourselves to that ride.

The teacups are one of our favorite rides! We always like to see how fast we can spin! :rotfl:

I feel the same way about the Winnie the Pooh ride -- I still miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. :(

Hurray for meeting Ariel and Prince Eric!

Thanks, Jackie! I thought he looked cute, too. Oh that stinking attraction. I miss the Alien Encounter. It was way cooler than the Stitch thing. I think it is time for it to go. Put something else there, ya know.

I went on by myself without Tim later on in the trip and I was whizzing. It was a work out. I was sweating when I got off. haha!

That ride was my favorite when I was little. The part with the train coming at you totally scared me. HAHA!

Fun day!! I always get teary-eyed at the MK rope drop-- it's our favorite!!
I could care less about Toontown closing! I don't think we stepped foot in it our last trip-- it's just not our style and I don't think it really ever fit in with the rest of the MK.
You guys got a lot done early! Nothing like a 5 minute wait for Splash!!

Yeah! I hear you! Bring on the new expansion!

It was awesome!

hum.... I don't remember how my hair was. Propably down since it was cold.

HAHA, cold in Disney is awful!

Oh and I got the VB email too, so I had to order a hipster in Carnaby for our trip. I haven't had Vera Bradley in ages (I mean years - like when they had French Blue and Provincial Red!!!) so it's going to be fun discovering the new styles and colors again!!! That was a pretty good sale!

OOH, I have a bag in Carnaby! I love that color.

Ahhh.... there's no sleep like a Disney sleep. :cloud9:

I sleep great there.

I'm pretty sure it is "Oh I see you", right?

YEah!! LOL, I thought it was too cute!

Joining in! Great report; it is making me even more excited for our trip. Your pictures are wonderful!:thumbsup2

Hi! Welcome on board! Thanks for reading!

Awww I just love the MK opening show. It makes me cry :sad1:

I love the signs by the Jungle Cruise. I've seen some others but never the two you posted. They took me a few mins to figure out :confused3 :rotfl2:

Great picture with you, Ariel and Eric! :thumbsup2

I know! Wishes is what gets me, though. I get emotional watching it.

HAHA, aren't they cute?

Thanks!

I loveee the MK rope drop :goodvibes It's the best one.

Awesome wait times, I can't believe after the rides you did SM was only 5 minutes

While I'm sad to see Toontown go, I'm excited for the Fantasyland expansion. I'm interested in seeing what the Little Mermaid attraction is going to be like! And the Beauty & the Beast restaurant, of course!

I love the pics of you and Ariel! I don't think I've ever seen Ariel & Eric do meet-and-greets before, how cool!

I am telling you that the first week of June is a great time to go! OMG, I cannot wait for the Beauty and the Beast restaurant!

Me neither, I was happy to see them!!

It all depends on the deal. Last year they ran a $25/night/person deal for some of the cruises so as soon as I see one for spring next year (fingers crossed) I'm jumping on it! I am dying to go on a cruise. Have you ever been on DCL?

I know, I have to! I never seem to make it though. I don't know about this trip either cause I have late afternoon/late nights planned at MK!

WOW that is a great deal! Yeah, we went on the Wonder before and loved it!! Absolutely amazing ship! The Dream is going to be unreal!

well, maybe you will one day!

What a beautiful picture of the train station early in the morning. I LOVE the opening show at MK too. "Good Morning" is from one of my favorite movies..."Singin' In The Rain"!!! Wednesdays at MK are fantastic. In Jan 09 we went to MK on a Mon and a Wed....Wed was MILES better. There were literally no lines for anything except Peter Pan (as usual). BTMRR was a 5 min wait in the middle of the afternoon. It was awesome.

Ariel's eyes do look extremely blue, but she's very cute! My DD hasn't met Ariel in human form yet and she really hopes to on our trip in Sept.

Oh, I hear you about it being crazy on Monday. That is the worst day to go.

She was cute. Aww, your daughter will love her.

Cute update!!!!!!! haha at Tim's face when he smelled something!!

He is a mess, lol!

All caught up! Boy, what a difference a couple of weeks makes when you're close to summer-vacation time....we had lots of crowds, especially at MK.

I have a Canon camera also, but I can never get good pictures on PoC. Does yours have an ISO setting higher than 1600?

Hey Glenn! Welcome back! I cannot wait to hear about your trip. Sorry the crowds were crazy. When we left on the 8th, the crowds were picking up, especially in the MK; Pirates was a 25 minute wait.

I use the nifty fifty lens in the dark rides and it only goes up to 1600.

Totally subbing! I've read all of your trippies through the years... you always make me feel like I'm there! :) Can't wait to see the rest of this one!

D~

Hi!!! Welcome on board!! That is what I like to do!! Thanks for reading:goodvibes

:goodvibes

I think we were at MK on the same Wed so I keep looking for us in the background of your photos....we ate lunch at Cosmic Ray's that day as well.

We were not there at rope drop but pretty close after opening and SM was our first ride!

Hi!! Welcome on board :) Thank you so much! I am going to do a little update now!

Great pics and report on day 2 so far. So happy that you got AKV Concierge and Disney Dream it will be amazing, I'd love to do the Safari at AKV. :)

:goodvibes

Thanks! Me too! OOh, I am really looking forward to the Sunrise Safari.

We were not there at rope drop but pretty close after opening and SM was our first ride!

That is awesome, lol. What time were you there? We were there around 11:30 A.M. I know it was before noon.

Woo hoo, the Magic Kingdom!! I agree, it is definitely the best morning show. So cute. :goodvibes

The Little Mermaid attraction is going to be so cool. I remember seeing the little extra on the LM DVD about how it was a lost attraction. We were wondering how many people saw that and demanded they actually build it. haha I do have to say though, as awesome as the Fantasyland expansion is going to be I will sort of miss Toontown. I loved it there when I was little.

Before we went into Cosmic Rays, we stopped for a picture and walked down to the Rose Garden. I absolutely love the Rose Garden.

I found some ducks sleeping under the rose bushes. How cute!

IMG_7870.jpg

I love the view of the castle.

IMG_7875.jpg

So pretty! After enjoying some time in the rose garden, we made it to Cosmic Rays. Before we walked in, though, I noticed that the sign said Starlight Cafe. I said to Tim, "I did not know they changed the name to Starlight Cafe." Then I took a better look at the sign and saw Cosmic Rays on the sign as well. WOW, there was my mishap number 5, lol. LOL! Tim was laughing at me. I honestly never realized it was called Comic Rays Starlight cafe. LOL!

We walked in and it was not busy at all. Tim went in line to get the usual chicken and ribs meal while I went in line to grab the BLT wrap. I love that wrap. I did take some pics of the food.

IMG_7876.jpg

IMG_7877.jpg

Everything was very good, but I could not finish the wrap. It's huge. I think Tim may have had some.

Okay, so after a yummy lunch, we took a ride on the TTA. For some reason, on this trip, I fell in love with the TTA. It really is a relaxing little ride. When we got up to the TTA, Tim spotted a pin on a CM and traded for it. It was the Chesire cat of the number ten series, I think. Apparently this one is hard to find.

IMG_7879.jpg

I was really happy to be on the TTA, lol. I have no idea why.
IMG_7881.jpg

Maybe this is why... I can take great pics of the castle.
IMG_7882.jpg

I love seeing this.
IMG_7883.jpg

Tim started to wave to everybody walking down below. I think maybe one person waved back, haha.

IMG_7888.jpg

IMG_7890.jpg

Here we are passing this dreaded ride. I am sorry, but this ride is horrid, lol.
IMG_7889.jpg

Another great view of the castle.

Tim wanted to go to the Monsters Inc Laugh floor, so that is where we were headed to after the TTA.
IMG_7894.jpg

While inside, they used the joke, "why did the skeleton not cross the road? Because he didn't have the guts." Tim sent that joke in when we went in January and they used it, lol. We thought it was cute to see it again.

When we got our of Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, we started to walk back over to Splash Mountain to use our FPs. We spotted Push along the way. He is so cute.
IMG_7897.jpg

Tim was annoyed because he couldn't find the guy who plays Push, lol! The guy had a great hiding spot.

We decided to go through Liberty Square. I took a picture of the sign that I never really paid any attention to.
IMG_7898.jpg

Tim found his buddy in Frontier Land.
IMG_7899.jpg

and then we headed over to the HM.
IMG_7901.jpg

We walked right on in.

I took a picture of this portrait.
IMG_7903.jpg

and 2 pictures in the attic.. we got stuck here, so I was able to get a nice picture of one of the portraits.

IMG_7905.jpg

IMG_7906.jpg

and here is our hitchhiker.
IMG_7910.jpg

When we got off, I took some time to read the tombstones on the wall. They are really cute. I love the sayings.

IMG_7911.jpg

IMG_7912.jpg

IMG_7913.jpg

I love this one! Emma is one of my favorite names for a little girl.
IMG_7915.jpg

IMG_7916.jpg

We headed on over to Splash and used our FP. The line was not that long of a wait when we got there. I want to say it was 20 or 30 mins, but we just used the FP, so we went right on.

YAY! I think this is the pic from the first time we went on, actually, because I sat in the front when I took the next picture.
IMG_7809.jpg

I was able to get a great picture of the hidden mickey before we went down. This is another one of my favorite hidden mickeys.
IMG_7932.jpg

After Splash, we went over to Mickey's Philar Magic. We love it!

Here are some cute hidden mickeys.

After Philhar Magic, it was time to head over to Epcot. I stopped for some pictures in front of the castle before we left.

Here is my favorite statue.
IMG_7925.jpg

IMG_7926.jpg

I think the pics when they make you look at each other are lame, lol, but I think this one came out cute.
Photo0041-1.jpg

I finally, after taking pics of the castle, made my way over to the bext bakery ever! Prepare to start drooling.
IMG_7927.jpg

I picked up the best chocolate chip muffin ever and the banana bread pudding muffin. Um YUM!
IMG_7928.jpg

While I was in the bakery, Tim went to watch the glass maker, so I met back up with him.
IMG_7930.jpg

Tim loves to watch him work his magic.

Look at how cute these are,
IMG_7929.jpg

Okay, so it was time to go. When I made it out to Main St, I noticed some CMs cleaning the street. I never noticed this thing. How cool!
IMG_7933.jpg

Tim said he saw it before. Coming up next, We make it to Epcot and have dinner at Nine Dragons.

Woo hoo, the Magic Kingdom!! I agree, it is definitely the best morning show. So cute. :goodvibes

I loved it there when I was little.

Wait! What? There is something about the attraction on the Little Mermaid DVD. I have it! OOh, I have to watch it.

I know what you mean. It is cute for kids.

What a great trip! How exciting!! Congrats and ENJOY!! :)

Thank you so much!

Congrats on booking the cruise and AKV Concierge and I love reading your reports and looking at your pictures.

Have a great day!

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

YAY!! Love the update!

I swear you take the best pictures!! I love the rose garden! Its one of my favorites!!

Great updates Lynn, I love the Pics of the Castle especially the top one with the statue. :goodvibes

I'm starving now after looking at the bakery pics. :lmao:

I love TTA too! It's a nice break during the day. Last time I went on it though, SM was being redone so all the lights were on and there were walls up everywhere. It'll be cool to go again since it's up and running now. Great pictures!

Another great update! You two seriously take the best photos. Your camera is amazing!

I also like the TTA. There's just something about it. I love being able to escape the crowds...and the best part? there's never a line!

It seems like you had great crowd levels! I hope that continued throughout your week :)

Great update!!!!! Your pictures are gorgeous as usual and the rose garden ones are really breathtaking! I love TTA too, I could just ride around and around for hours!!! The spiel has changed though, hasn't it? I read here on the boards that there's no more "Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow. Your party from Saturn has arrived. Please give them a ring." That was our favorite part!!!

Lynnie-I caught up on Day1 , now I have to read Day 2.. Will do it tonight:surfweb:!!!! I have to call you later

We went on Pirates last Wednesday and the wait was 30 minutes. The line was outside of the "tunnel" if that makes sense, into the courtyard. I've never seen the line out that far before.

Sounds like I'm going to have to add a new lens to my Christmas list.
