AKV, here we come. June 1-8 11/15.. Finally BACK!

HI!! :wave2: Don`t know if you remember me, I put shoes on your SIL in your family wedding pic (I think that`s who it was:confused3). Every time I log on I check your "Running the half..." TR, just on the off chance that there'll be a post. Nope. Nothing new there. Should I delete it from my subscribe list? I just can't do it, maybe someday, somewhen, Lynn will come back. So I'm looking through some posts when what do I see but... what's this? A post from Lynn5700??? She's back?! And she's got a new PTR going?!? I am so there. :cool1: Just got caught back up and you`re just about off on another trip! Have fun! Can`t wait to read all about it. :goodvibes

We went to SWW two years ago, and it was much more crowded than last year when we were at the park in September - I'm sure that's a combination of SWW and the fact that it was the middle of summer. We still managed to get several rides in though.

Even if you don't get to have pictures with the characters, you'll see a lot of them walking around. We also took most of our character pictures while they were at their posts inbetween the times they were with guests, or when they first arrived/getting ready to leave.

Here you go.

For Spectro...

F1.4 to 1.8, ISO 800 1/50 ps

Dark rides

1/80 ps F1.8 ISO 1600

fireworks...
ISO 100 3-6 ps, umm set F to whatever the lowest number is.

Thanks... the lowest f i have is 3.5 I think...hmm idk how to make that work...guess i am going to be testing it out somehow lol

Ohhhhhhh Jiko mmmmm! Love your picture of the napkin!! :rotfl2: I would have never thought to take that!!! I have missed your food pictures!!
I have had a very similar dessert from starring rolls like that banana concoction.....OMG!! So good....I have had it for breakfast :rolleyes1
WOW your trip really came up fast! Not a huge SW fan but can't wait to see your pictures.....I remember from Tammy's TR last year there are some pretty freaky looking people there! There was someone wandering around the SW area a few weeks ago with red hair...pale, pale skin and an antenna sticking out of her forehead...don't know who she was though :confused3

Tracy

Tim loves it, but we don't want to deal with the crowd. Oh, I know. Leaving is so annoying, lol.

Yes, leaving Fantasmic when it is crowded is the worst!! If there are 2 shows on one night you are there, go to the 2nd one!! A couple weeks ago DH and I rode RnR throughout the 9pm show (walk on!) and then Fantasmic was only 25% full for the 10:30 showing!! It was the best - you could show up less than 30 mins before the 10:30 show and have a great seat right in the middle.
If they have 2 shows when you are there, I swear you must do this!

Hope you are all packed and have a great trip!!!

BTW I am Andrea on your facebook, this is my first post on your PTR here.
:yay:

I love Yak & Yeti!

I thought of you when we ate there:goodvibes

Great Plans.. we love Jiko! It's our fav., geez.. they have such good food there!:goodvibes

I know you love it there, girl. We are really looking forward to eating there again.

omg, AKL's Christmas tree is gorgeous!

Love Yak & Yeti's decor; I really want to eat there.

Haha I don't think it's silly at all, I'd probably do the same thing if I had homework to do. I never mind when we're waiting for our table at Boma to be ready- I like chillin in AKL- it's so relaxing!

You should. We really enjoyed lunch. I totally agree with you. The atmosphere is so relaxing.

Seriously! Your pictures are really making me want to go during the holidays! It's soooo beautiful!
I'm right there with you on the working out thing! :thumbsup2 When we were there in August it was way too hot to run outside (even at 5:30am), so I just used the treadmill while watching tv.
That's awesome that you guys have a "free" day. It makes the trip a little less hectic when you have a day to do whatever!
Just a few more days!! So excited for you guys! :yay:

You have to go then. It is really neat to see all of the Christmas decorations. I remember watching Samantha Brown's Christmas episode on the travel channel and I told Tim that we have to go during the Christmas season. OMG, I loved the snow on Main St and at the Osbourne Lights. It was so cold that it felt real. OOH and my SIL and I danced with the CMs... I think we did some line dance, but I am not sure which one, but it was a lot of fun. I have to find the picture.... okay, I found them. I will post them in my next post.

I think I figured out what else we are going to do on our off day!

I've been lurking a bit. So glad you're back on the boards! I am so jealous you're going back in 3 days! I almost had DH convinced into a long weekend babymoon, but we're not going. Just a bit too much money right now. I'll be living vicariously through everyone else!

Hi! Welcome! Aww, congrats on the baby. How are you feeling?

To be honest when we were there SWW we pretty much just did Star Wars stuff. We didn't even try to do anything else so I can't really say. The Disney Star Wars meet 'n greet is a bit of a pain. They rotate the characters every 15 minutes or so and the line is usually longer than 15 minutes. So you get in line with one character and by the time you make it to the front a different character is there. One time we got in line when Mickey was there. He left and Donald and Goofy came. The line was super slow when they were there because they fool around so much. So we didn't make it to them. By the time it was our turn we actually met Minnie. I guess we had a chance to see all of them though:confused3

Oh and here is a Darth Vader tip. At rope drop we went around the left side of the park back past Lights Motor Action. Most everyone else went the other way. We came around the corner by Vader's meet 'n greet right as he was walking up. There was a crowd behind him, but we were actually first in line to meet him. Worked great.

Awesome! Thank you so much for the tips. I appreciate it.

Mmm that Jiko steak looks delicious!! Filet is my absolute favorite cut-- hope your dinner there is just as good as usual.

Thank you. Have you ever been?

Lynn did you see my most current facebook status, about frying my macbook pro. OMG I cried, especially since I hadn't backed up my pictures from last week yet!!! Luckily they were able to extract my hard drive.

yeah, I did!! You poor thing. I bet you were so upset. Are you getting a new Mac? If anything happened to my Mac I would lose my mind, lol.

Glad you were able to save your pics.

We're trying Jiko for the first time in July - can't wait! I hope my DD likes it! Have a great trip - can't wait to hear more!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Oh you will! It is so good!

HEY!!! OMG Yeah I do!!!! LOL! I remember when you did that for me:rotfl: I am cracking up over here. Aww, I am sorry. I am posting some pics from that trip. Are you on FB? I have all of my pics up from Jan on there. I would love to add you as a friend if you have one.

OOH, I forgot... the Spectro and dark ride settings are for my nifty fifty lens. DO you have a 50 mm lens?

Tracy

Hi Tracy! Starring rolls is one of my favorite places! We always get bagels from there in the morning. HAHA, I know, she had awesome pics. I have no clue who that person is. Tim will know.

Hey Andrea! Welcome! I will have to check and see if the night we are there has a later showing. You are right, the second show is less crowded. Thanks for the tips :)

When we were in DHS one night, the last song they played before they turned everything off was Feliz Navidad. It was a blast.

Look at how bundled up the CMs were.. lol.

I was cracking up the whole time.

We have never been to Ghiradelli, so looks like we will be going to DTD after dinner at Jiko. I so want to get the peanut butter sundae. I think it is called The Gold Rush. Any of you ever been?

Animal Kingdom Lodge and Animal Kingdom -- two of my favorite places at Disney! :lovestruc Love your plans for this day between breakfast at Boma and dinner at Jiko! Yum, yum, yum!

I cracked up over that picture of you as a candle flame! Too funny! :rotfl:

I knew you would love Day 5 plans, lol! I am really looking forward to it.

haha, that pic cracks me up, lol.

I've never been to Jiko. :guilty: I love Boma so much that if we plan to eat at AKL, that's where we go. We'll get there some day.

Can't help you out with the Gold Rush. Never had it, but it sounds great. How could you go wrong?

No, not on FB. I guess I'll just have to wait for your PTRs. That's okay though, when I read your PTRs it's almost as good as going myself (if only I could taste the food pics... :rolleyes1)

Oh no! I don't have that lens! I only have the one that came with the camera which is 18-55mm and then I have a 55-250mm lens... what is the 50mm one good for?? I JUST got it for my birthday a couple weeks ago so I am still clueless lol

LOL the Christmas Carol picture is hilarious :rotfl:

I've been to Ghiradelli before and usually get the brownie sundae. SO good! I've haven't tried their Gold Rush sundae but with peanut butter and chocolate you can't go wrong. :goodvibes

Yak & Yeti is YUMMY! What did you guys have?

:rotfl: The Christmas Carol picture is great. I can't believe how bundled up everyone is. I'm not used to seeing pictures of people in Disney World with coats and Uggs on!

Definitely get there one day! Yum! Have you done Boma for breakfast? It is great.

OMG, did you read what is in The Gold Rush? OMG, it sounds so good.

Aww man. LOL, can you imagine? lol

The 50 mm lens is dirt cheap and is great to use for portraits, dark rides, and natural lighting. It lets in a lot of light, so you don't have to use a flash. I hate using a flash because I prefer the natural lighting. The flash takes away from the emotion and atmosphere of some pictures. You know what I mean?

I had the won ton soup and the sweet and sour chicken. Both were good. For dessert I had those wonton things, but I did not like them. They were too greasy for me.. I am not a fan of deep fried things. I should have known better... oh and it was a combination of sweet and salty, YUCK, not for me, lol.

Girl, it was freezing for Fl. It just did not let up.

Your pictures are SO funny  I have never been to Jiko, but I hear it is amazing! :lovestruc

:goodvibes It sure is!!

Day 6

Man, I have to finish posting our plans... We have like 2 days left, lol.

The Summer Nightastic begins on this day. YAY! We are really looking forward to checking it all out.

Let me share some pics of some more Disney World Christmas.

The MK tree.

On with the plans....

I think we are going to have Main St Bakery for breakfast.
IMG_5165.jpg

YUM! I miss my French Toast Loaf, though. It was amazing.

Guess where we are having dinner on this night??

IMG_5384.jpg

I know ya'll know where this is from :) If not, shame on you, lol. We are having dinner at Ohana.

After dinner, we are right back to the MK for the Electrical Parade and the new fireworks. I read the description of the new fireworks show, and it reminds me of either the Pirate and Princess party fireworks or MNSSHP fireworks.

MK is have EMH this night, so we will see how long we decide to hang in the MK.

Coming up next- Our last night, but not our last day

WOW, Lynn.. How exciting that you are leaving in only 2 days! :yay:Great update, that dessert from O'hana looks delicious. I can't wait to give it a try this August...

You take such amazing photos, Lynn! I love all the Christmas window displays!

Hurray for MSEP! :yay: Take lots of pictures since I still have 49 days before I get to see it! ;)

I LOVE that Space Mountain picture! So cool-- I can't wait to experience the refurb.
Haha, I instantly knew that last picture of yours...probably because my version of it is the wallpaper on my laptop! :lmao:
