AKV exterior painting

FYI - we were there Dec. 6 - 13 and they were doing exterior painting outside of our room and on our balcony. we were in room 5014, a value studio with a pool view. They had drained the water area that leads to the pool on that side of the resort. the elevators were also locked ou for a day that lead to the pool in the middle of the hallway. It did not seem to affect any of the ammenities of the resort.

Your maintenance dollars at work! We have been at OKW when the exterior was being painted also. Only a minor inconvenience.

As I mentioned, if you have one of the rooms, be careful of what you are (not) wearing in the room. The workers do come on your balcony to do the trimming!!

OMG--we have a funny story concerning that! We were there at the same time, and one of the days we were at the hotel for a break during the middle of the day. We came back from the boys swimming and they were getting dressed in the living room (we had a value 1 bedroom). All of a sudden I look out the doors to the balcony and there are a couple of guys painting! The boys were horrified, even though they weren't completely naked . They thought it was funny too, but they did make a beeline for the bathroom to finish getting dressed .

We had no idea they were doing exterior maintenance so it came as a bit of a surprise . It didn't bother us though and it looked nice when they were done .

they are surpose to warn you. Either a thing in the room, a call, or when you checked in - the front desk should have say something.

I thought of that, but for me, it was only a 1 night stay and I didn't get a warning. I hadn't gotten a written confirmation that may have had a warning because I only booked the room a week before the stay. My "warning" was that I noticed it happening to rooms around me as I was enjoying the pool.

We stayed at AKV in September and they were painting exteriors on the Arusha Savanna. The front desk didn't say anything, but there was a note on the table about the painting.

We are in 5024 value 1 bd right now ( pool view) and had guys on or around our balcony the past 2 days without warning. So I have learned to check for them now.

We are happy with most everything else though. Love AKL. Weather has been perfect. Enjoyed room svc from Jiko. Do I have to go home-ever?

Hey - we were there in 5455 that same week... We saw the cherrypicker when we checked in on Saturday...so figured something was up. The sound of the motor for hours on end was sooo relaxing.

Didn't think we'd get a lot of animal action because of it - but all turned out just fine. Warning would've been nice though...
