AKV-Date "New" Pool Will be Ready?

Had so much fun @ AKV in Oct, we decided to switch over 'tentative' vacation in June

Q though, when booking i was asked whether i wanted the 'old' or 'new' building...

i went with existing as MS wasn't able to confirm whether the pool would be finished by then tentative was what i was told

anybody hear anything different or know the expected completion date?

DVC is yet to open a DVC resort without a pool being close by.

since Jambo house is pretty far from Kidani - definitely expecting the pool.

that say if you booked standard - you are better off at Jambo House - all their views are the swimming pool.

with Kidani it could be the drive way (parking is underneath)

of course the 1-bedroom and up are definitely better at Kidani...

you realize that there is be no value or concierge in Kidani - just savannah and standard.

so if you want value then you must be in Jambo House.

When I called two weeks ago, MS said the pool would be open for the Grand Opening. I said my kids wanted to play in the pool and the CM said not to worry.

Why is this? We just booked and have a 1 bedroom savannah view in Jamba as there was nothing in the Kidani available..... Have never stayed at this resort.

The 1 bedrooms at Kidani will have two bathrooms and the room is a bit larger than Jambo.

I had no idea the parking was underneath. I prefer to self-park, as opposed to valet. Is this self-parking or valet or both? Thanks!

Disney has every intention of having all of the resort amenities available from opening. However, as with any major undertaking, that may not be the case.

I would certainly expect the pool to be open. However, if (for example) some part malfunctions or is late in being delivered for the water play area, the associated feature may not be operating. I believe this happened at Saratoga Springs. There is a kids play area with a Donald Duck figurine, and I don't think Donald was operating reliably for several months.

Those staying at Kidani over the first month or so should expect minor inconveniences. That's all part of breaking in a new 300+ unit resort facility.
