AKV Concierge views

The 5 units are 2 bedroom lock offs. The views are 3 sunset savannah and 2 are on the pool side. You can request a view with MS.[/QUOTE]

Sorry no you can't.
Your not allowed to request a view.
You get what you get.

This is absolutely NOT true. We have requested Savannah views for our CL studio for the last three years and have gotten it twice automatically. Two years ago they put us in a pool view room and my wife went out to the Concierge Desk and asked if there was any CL SV rooms coming available. The first CM said no and blew us off, but she went back again later when someone else was there and she took the time to check and said that we could switch sides if we desired in a few days. We were going to be there for 10 days total, so we agreed. Later that evening they called us and said we would be able to actually switch the NEXT MORNING (1 day sooner) instead.....

....and there was much rejoicing! :cool1:

The view was not the best. We were in the same studio (6209) twice. These pictures were taken when Kidani was being built.

Robinb - which studio is this one? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd starting at the lounge?

We had the 2nd one away from the lounge on the pool side 2 years ago and we really liked it, even though it wasn't savanna view.

It's the last one away from the lounge all the way down the hall.

It is my understanding that the "no requests" thing is relatively new.

maybe but is absolutely is true.
We are booked ALK DVC CL and were specifically told you can NOT request a room view at DVC CL.
Now once you arrive and ask if one is available is different like Rob is describing is a different story.
I sure will try and ask once we arrive.

But as of right now, your not allowed to make a view request at ALK DVC CL.

I am starting to think it is more important to me to be on the end away from the lounge, regardless of which side we end up on. I can't remember if I requested a particular view or not.

Hey Robin - We've actually stayed in this studio before. Did you have any problems with hornets or wasps outside your balcony? Not sure what time of year you stayed in that studio. We stayed in the summer and could not use the balcony because of the number of wasps and/or hornets constantly coming in and around the thatching. We alerted the front desk of the situation, but they stated there was little they could do. They came up and sprayed the balcony, but it didn't appear to help much. Just curious if you had a similar experience.

We were there in December both times and there were no wasps.

We had this problem last June in 6209 CL. A Naturalist, the Housekeeping Manager, and paramedics showed up at my door because I had been bitten on my legs. Turns out the bites were from deer flies, but the Naturalist removed the nest from the balcony. I also discovered the wasps made a home inside the tube railing.

I am also very positive MS is not taking view requests for CL rooms. We made our reservation in November and were told they were not noting view requests. Maybe a few in MS will still do it, but it did not work for us and that is also the consesus I have read on the boards over the past 6 months or so. To me, it makes sense that they are no longer taking view requests for CL because there is such a limited amount of inventory and I'm sure most people were requesting savanna and obviously, not everybody can get savanna.
I'm not so worried about our view for our Oct trip, but I would prefer not to have a HA room, if possible. Anybody know the specific room numbers for studio HA CL? (of course, if that's all that is available when I check-in I will still be happy to be in Disney :goodvibes)

I found this out last week from MS. Disney Management decides how many 2 bedrooms, how many 1 bedrooms and how many studios will be loaded into the reservation system from the lockoff inventory at all of the resorts. Once loaded, MS can not take a 2 bedroom and split it to make a 1 bedroom and a studio.

Of the 5, 2 bedrooms on the 6th floor at Jambo House, currently there is 1, 2 bedroom, and 4, 1 bedroom, and 4 studios.

:earsboy: Bill

That is what is currently staying there ? I have stayed in almost every room up there and a couple times it had been a 2 bedroom and I have had views of both sides.

What I am saying is that I was told that the room mix is pre-determined at all of the resorts. MS can't find a 2 bedroom lockoff in their system and take the studio or 1 bedroom. It can only be used as a 2 bedroom unless Management changes it. I was told that the mix is determined by historical and seasonal information.

We made our reservations in July, but I can't remember if I asked for a certain view or not.

It seems like I have read the HA CL room is a one bedroom, NOT a studio. Hopefully someone else can confirm that.

There are two HA Concierge rooms. They are both 1BRs and both face the Sunset Savanna. Room 6202 has a roll-in shower and no tub. Room 6205 has a combined whirlpool tub and shower. So if you book a Concierge 1BR and request a savanna view and your request is granted, you have a 66% chance of getting some type of HA room, and a 33% chance of getting the HA room with the roll-in shower and no whirlpool tub.

I am probably in the minority but we have had savannah view twice and pool view once and I actually prefer the pool view in Concierge level.

And this is why I only book studios on CL. No tub in a 1 bedroom is not an option for the amount of points.

I agree. We are in a 1BR for 3 nights in May because we were able book it at 5 months. If I get the HA room it's only for 3 nights of a 20 night trip so I guess I will be alright!

I'm not sure about minority, but I know I've read others say the same thing.
