AKV - Check In Requests

We (DH and I) are booked at Animal Kingdom Jumbo house for check in on August 31. This will be our first time staying here and we are staying on dvc points. I know that I may not even get the request, but during check in it was asking what I would want as a room request and gave me the following options:

Request Savanna View (We already booked a savanna view via dvc so should I really check this too?)
Request Arusha
Request Kudu Trail
Request 5th Floor

I really want to see animals, animals, animals. I don't care about the walk or etc...just animals and the view so what do you recommend I check?

Sometimes a general request gives them more options. Maybe just putting in that you'd like to be in a room that has a view of an active savannah. I know in the past if we get specific with request they were never met so we stopped requesting LOL

Last year we just put in a general request to be closer to the food court and we were AMAZED when we checked in and actually had rooms close to the food court LOL.

With the inventory of available rooms being so vast, giving them a general request to meet is going to open up a lot more possibilities . And I just read where a guest said she calls within 10 days of checking in and speaks with a CM and actually notes her request on her reservation. So that's an option too...just to make a quick call and letting them know you want a active savannah view . Hope you get what you request!

You are actually in Jambo House and you will be on the fifth floor unless you got one of the five two bedroom lockoffs (or portions thereof) on the sixth floor concierge level. If the points used belong to you, you can call MS to make your requests at any time.

The savannah view is dependent on the room category that was booked with the DVC points...so if you booked (or the owner did) savannah view, you're set there. If not, you'll get standard (pool, at Jambo) view. The only exceptions would be there are some Value DVC villas at Jambo that look out over the entrance/parking lots and some Concierge rooms where the view could be either savannah or pool. Again, all that is determined by the category of room that was booked (Concierge, Savannah, Standard, or Value).

ALL DVC rooms at Jambo are on the 5th floor (except for the concierge rooms...they're up on 6)...so you're likely set there, too.

The Arusha request is good.

I usually request ZEBRA trail, near the elevators. This gets you closer to the pool, easier access to the restaurants...and a tiny bit closer to the bus stop.

Kudu is nice..but more removed.
