we love the akl and its gift shop. does any one know if I can just visit the lodge for a drink in the lodge and shop in the gift shop. I was thinking of making a ps in boma if they won't just let me in to shop. We are staying in OKW.

You can go over to just shop or even just hang out and look at the animals if you wanted.

We checked out AKL, made ressies for Boma, and loved it so much that we made ressies AGAIN for dinner there for another night!!

Are you sure? I though with the heightened security that the resort guards were requiring either a reservation, an AKL room key or a PS for one of the restaurants before they let someone pass.

My partner was upset when we changed our reservation from ASMo to AKL because the kids wouldn't get to see the theming. He asked me if we could still drop by the ASMo, but I didn't think we could, as they only have food courts and we wouldn't be able to get a PS. Am I all wet on this one?

I'm not sure about the other resorts, but when we were at AKL they wouldn't let anyone past the gate that wasn't a registered guest or unless they had a priority seating at one of the restaurants. The guard had a list of priority seatings right at the gate.

...guess they tightened security a little more since last Aug, cuz, we arrived at AKL via the AK bus. No one stopped us, or even asked for proof of PS's for Bomas.....maybe if you don't use your own vehicle, it's different.

We just stayed at AKL at the end of May and my in-laws were meeting us for the day. I called ahead of time to make sure that wasn't a problem and it wasn't. They just had to give our name at the gate. No ressies or ps's required.

This is how we "tricked" my DD when we switch resorts. We were "resort hopping" that day with the last stop being AKL, we walked around, look at everything and then I went to the check in desk, checked in and handed her her room key. It was priceless.
