4, glorious, KID FREE nights!!! We will have a car and do out normal park hopping. Thoughts on where to stay???

We have stayed at BW and loved the proximity to EPCOT - walking, and to DTD by car. This time we are trying AKL because we've always wanted to stay there and it is so beautiful and seems quiet and a little slower paced. We also stayed at the Grand Californian so will just go to WL to see how it differs.
Do you have a preference at to which park you will be close to? Preference for dining?

I would vote for BW on a kids free trip. There is a lot to do and places to eat on the Boardwalk. They have Jelly Rolls, a comedy club, for instance. It is an easy walk, or boat ride, into Epcot and HS. And Epcot at night is our favorite place because of the almost empty future World and the busy World Showcase.

oh geez this is SUCH a hard question to answer! The AKL is my favorite hotel. When I go there I just feel like I've been transported somewhere far far away. Everything about it is just amazing. The ONLY thing I didn't like when I stayed there was that there aren't really grounds to walk around. In the evening I don't like feeling confined to a central area. Now I absolutely love the Boardwalk as well. As already mentioned, the location just can't be beat. While I appreciate the theme and architecture of the AKL more, I really love being able to walk around the Boardwalk and to the Beach/Yacht Club. I've never stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, so I can't give much input on it.

:thumbsup2 These are exactly the same things that I was thinking. It's the reason that I ended up purchasing a DVC contract at BWV (scary clown pool not withstanding). We love being so close to the restaurants in the World Showcase. And it's nice to be able to have a couple of drinks at Jellyrolls and then stroll back to our resort. Or to head over to the Atlantic Dance Company for an evening.

AKL and WL are both beautiful resorts but for a child-free trip, I would choose BWI.

I've only ever stayed at the WL and we loved it but I have to agree with the others. For your situation, I would go with the BW. You are so close to everything and can enjoy the Boardwalk.

My vote is for BW, especially if you have a car. I would drive myself to AK, DTD or any of the waterparks, as bus service for BW and all the EPCOT resorts is really lacking. We stayed at YC and ended up having to take a cab several times.

Walking to the IG at EPCOT is really fun and takes about 5-6 min depending on your location. DS is a quick walk or boat ride away.

I think if DH and I ever go on a solo trip, we will spend most of our time at EPCOT, so BW would be ideal. BW also has some good adult only venues and fun eateries. It's also lovely to walk around at night.

I would stay CL or a garden suite, if financially possible....and order something special to be delivered by disneyflorist.

Have a great trip!

Honestly, we are leaning towards the Boardwalk too. We really enjoy the nightlife there- but tend not to be able to do some of it with the kids with us. Plus, the idea of walking to/from Epcot for drink/dinner or dessert is great. Some of the reviews that I have been seeing have not been so great...but honestly, with the kids we either do a value or moderate (based on their choice for themes) so going from either one of them to a deluxe is a win win in my eyes! Thanks for the opinions!!!

We've never stayed at BWI and although we've had great stays at the WL and AKL, I would choose BWI for an adults only trip. The Epcot area is great and the boardwalk does have great nightly entertainment and you can't beat walking to Epcot and DHS. As far as the reviews you've read, I would take those with a grain of salt. All resorts have good and bad reviews as everyone's expectations/opinions are different. BWI is a beautiful resort and is one we want we want to try. Good luck deciding and have a great trip.
