Akl VS. WL ?

I have AKL booked for our trip. Stayed at WL last Oct. and loved it! Wondering if I should try to switch back. Want to hit the parks early then go to the pool for a swim. Is the bus ride long to MK? What is the pools like at theAKL? Lots of area to sit? Food court like? Thanks

I love WL and stay at least one week every year. In January had the opportunity to take a "quick trip" to cure our fix until the next trip in august. Begged my family to stay at AKL. While the architecture is the same, it is a beautiful place to stay, it is NOT the WL! My DD & DS (12) both would not go back to AKL. They thought the bus rides were just too far. It is a tough decision, the restaurants at AKL are absolutely far better than WL, but you can always go to AKL to eat! My vote would be for WL! Good luck with your decision!

I preferred AKL to WL, though I would happily stay at either again. I thought the bus rides at AKL were great, since the bus doesn't make any other stops it's a straight-shot to the parks, and the buses came very often. We never waited more than ten minutes. I actually think I got to the MK faster from AKL than I did from WL. Though the boat ride from WL was very, very nice, it wasn't what I would call fast and they didn't come as often as the AKL buses, then in the afternoon the boat goes to FW before the MK, making the trip even longer. I did not like the WL buses at all, having been spoiled by the AKL buses not making any stops. I didn't ride one single bus all week at WL that didn't stop somewhere else before going to the parks. AKL's pool is huge and has a zero-entry area. It has a lot of lush landscaping and nearby seating if you'd like to eat near the pool rather than inside Mara.

WL's courtyard area was prettier than the pool area at AKL, IMO, but the pool is smaller at WL. I preferred AKL's theming to WL's, but not by a lot.

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice, really.

Personally i love the theming of wl and akl, but i would pick wl in a heart beat . The animals and pool are great the whole theme is fun in akl. But the downside to staying in wilderness lodge is the pool smaller. They both have some kid activities. By far akl has the best snackbar and the buffet is pretty good. But in akl there are long busrides.
