akl standard view

we just made reservations for akl standard view for 4/25-5/1. this will be our first stay here. can anyone recommend where i should request our room to be? we're going to request an upgrade at check-in but i want to be prepared in case we don't get one. thanks!!!! can't wait!!!!!!

If you're on an upper floor, you'll be a bit above the cars and busses. You could request to be close to the pool, but I believe that side is also the side the busses stop. It's a wonderful resort --- have a great trip!

Unless you are getting a savannah view it makes very little difference -- you will be at one of the many viewing areas on each floor enjoying the animals.

You might want to watch for discount codes and see if you can confirm an upgrade to a savannah view room.

It is a fabulous resort! Great theming, zero entry pool, Jiko (a signature restaurant), Boma (best buffet on property), tremendous artwork, and did I mention the views?

Upon checking in they may surprise you and already upgraded you to a Savana Rm. We went in Dec. and had a Standard Rm. and they upgraded us to a Savana Rm. on Zebra Trail. All in all the resort is great.

I just posted a thread a couple of weeks ago about our stay in a std. room...You might want to search it out.

I agree with kda that an upper floor 4, 5 or 6 gets above the people.

Lastly, DO NOT expect an upgrade...please. If you need a Savannah room and will be disappointed with no upgrade, then do yourself a favor and pay for it yourself. As I understand it, most recent upgrades have been from std. to pool view (and not Savannah-although as Donald38 points out, anything is possible). The pool upgrade is nice just no big deal...So if the Savannah is important keep checking those codes!

My mom checked in this morning. She did get a standard view on the 5th floor. I'll try to find out more when he calls me later!
