AKL short trip report

Just back from six great days at the AKL. I'm so grateful I got so many tips on this board. We stayed in a Savannah view room for $179. The AKL honored all my requests, 3rd floor, non-smoking, bunkbed room. The kids loved the bunks. Our DS7 and DD3 loved the resort. We are enjoyed the quietness of the resort after the hussle of the parks. The resort is great for children even young ones. The pool is fabulous, we all enjoyed the slide (even DD3!), it was never crowded. I knew I'd made the right choice, when the kids couldn't wait to open the curtains every night and see what was sleeping in front of our balcony. Four Ancoke cattle and three Gemsbok slept there every night. We never waited longer than 15 minutes for transportation and found the front desk extremely helpful in answering questions, giving suggestions and directions. Mara, Boma and room service, were all fabulous ( the banana stuffed french toast was great!) I'd be happy to answer any questions. We have no negative things to say about this awesome resort!

What was your room# and which savanna did it look out on? Did the kids enjoy Boma or Mara? Any info regarding children's activities would be appreciated? TIA.

Our room number was 3239. rooms further down our hallway were not yet open (making it very quiet).. We were on the Kudu Trail looking towards Arusha rock. We could see plenty of animals every day. And the picture windows right near our room overlooked the watering hole, where you could stop and see what was taking a drink. My kids are young and with all the character meals and the HDDR, I think they preferred the Mara. There are a lot of quick selections that appeal to children and a TV playing Disney Movies too!

Thanks for your report. I have heard so many good things about AKL. My nephew is staying there next week. Maybe one day I'll stay there too.
