AKL Room Request

We're leaning towards the AKL for our upcoming trip in June. Would probably just go with a standard room. Any suggestions on room request?? I've read to try to avoid the 3rd floor. How many floors are there? And which is the best to try to be on??

Hi there...

AKL has 6 floors... level 6 is concierge, levels 5, 4 ,3 & 2 are guest room levels and 1 is the pool/restaurant level.

Level 3 is the lobby level as well - I think it would be quite convenient to be on that level... you would not have to use the elevators that much but others think there is alot of foot traffic through this floor.

Standard rooms overlook the parking/ bus areas so the view is not that great.. but the price is and there are plenty of public areas to view the animals... I guess If I had to have a view of parking - I would want to be higher?

Gorgeous hotel, wonderful facilities, pool, restaruants, lobby, guest rooms and service... have a great time planning your holiday.

to AKL was this past November, and we had booked a standard room. Ended up with a pool view (lovely!) on the first floor. Just a walk around the corner to the spa, and just another loop around to see the animals. We had a king room which was heavenly!

We were booked in a standard view room last fall. The only request we made in our ressie was for 'best view possible' and we were upgraded to pool view upon check-in. Good luck!
