AKL questions

We are leaving in a few days for AKL and I had a few last minute questions:

Where are the standard view room located? Are there any ground floor standard view rooms? Are the balconies at ground level?

Does AKL provide soap and shampoo?

Does it cost extra to get a coffeemaker?

I'm not sure about the views, but soap and shampoo are provided in all Disney hotels, and it does not cost extra for a coffeemaker at AKL.

Standard view rooms face the outside of the resort, the parking lot.

And some of the ground floor standard rooms have a brick wall rather than railing (since it's blocking your view of the driveway). I, for one, wouldn't want a first floor standard room, at least on that side of the building.

Keep in mind that the lobby is on the third floor. The standard rooms on the ground floor would face either the parking lot or, possibly, the pool area.
Yes, they definitely provide shampoo and soap.
Not sure about the coffee maker. I walked down to Mara each morning with my refillable mug for coffee. The coffee was very good there I might add!!

All the standard view rooms at AKL are in the front of the building. And on the 5th floor there are 3 or 4 rooms that do not have balconies. All they have is a cubby hole type room with a small open port hole for a window. You cannot see anything from them at all unless you climb out onto the thatched roof. There's not much fresh air coming into them either. We had 3 of these rooms on our stay and we asked to be moved. Our second set of rooms were on the lobby level and they were very nice.
