AKL Pool

I've heard that the AKL pool is really cool, but just how great is it?

Worth braving Monday morning rush hour traffic to get to the airport so that we'll be at the resort an hour earlier than taking another flight?

We can either take a 9 a.m. flight that gets us to Orlando airport at 1 p.m. or a 10 a.m. flight that gets us there at 2 p.m. I'm counting on another couple of hours to get to the resort via ME. 3 p.m. sounds better than 4 to me, but getting to the airport by 8 a.m. on a MOnday morning sounds not so fun. Anyone have thoughts?

Anything that gets me to WDW sooner is worth it. 8 AM at the airport is nothing. I often take a flight down that requires me to be at the airport by 5 AM.

That being said and to answer your question, it is a pool. It is a big, nice pool with some great landscaping and theming around it, but in the end it is just a pool. Only you can decide if a pool is worth that extra hour to you.

OMG just the thought of that pool it is the most relaxing, IMO of all of the pools in WDW........I can hear the drum beats now.....AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

I concurr with 8am is late in the total airport arrival scheme..lol

I agree - 8 am is not late. If I could get an earlier flight, I would. My concern is driving all the way across the Twin Cities during rush hour on a Monday. I was really just wondering if my excitement about getting to the pool was warranted. I guess I've come to the conclusion that it's worth it to get to ANYTHING Disney. Thanks for the input - but keep the pool comments coming. I love it!!

We get there as early as we can, sleep on the plane and ME and then start our vacation!!!
