AKL People Pens

Question for all you AKL experts, Where are the people pens and how many are there. I want to fax a room request and want to be as informed as possible. Thanks

There are at least 3 -- 2 on the Uzima savannah side, and 1 (?) on the sunset side. There are none on Arusha savannah (the one inside the "horseshoe") so requesting that is a good bet.

If you request Arusha savannah view and zebra trail you will be on the side of the resort with the pool and restaurants, overlooking the central savannah.

What is a "people pen"? I have images of caged humans dancing through my head.

It is the fire exit area I believe...they can't dump people into the area with the animals. so part of each savannah view is penned off to herd....people through during an evacuation.. Though unfortunately they classify rooms in this area as savannah view...except that you'd have to be a contortionist to see the animals from one of these rooms...

The "people pen" is a fenced in circle that is there in case of emergency. If the resort has to be evacuated, people stay there so they are away from the animals until a truck comes to take them to a safe area.

They are planning on electrifying the fence and in the future will put all unreasonable guests into those areas for an indeterminate period of time. Other guests will be able to hurl insults (as well as animal 'patties') at the boorish mugs. Each offender will be spray painted with their offense, i.e. "not happy with room" or "no animals outside of my window".

Disney expects these room may soon fetch higher prices than regular Savannah rooms...

Now there's an idea that's long overdue. I've run into one or two of those kinds of guests that serving some time in that kind of pen might put the Mickey back in them

Peter Pirate ... I like to go through the threads "hit or miss" ... just to see what might interest me. Now I just go through the threads specifically looking for your posts so I can ROTFL!

Will you have a special thread of your own any time soon just to keep us entertained? Or, better yet, how about a Vegas type show set up at one of the resorts? I'd pay to see you! Some of those Disney shows are pretty tired...they could use you and your humor
