I'm here now for my first time and LOVE it! Our room is close to the end of the building that seperates Arusha and Sunset Savanna's. The animals are constantly coming and going around the end of this building. We are facing the Arusha Savanna and have seen a ton of animals. I'm on the Dis app or I'd post a pic of my view.

Just back from a magical week at Jambo. We had a 1-BR Suite on the 5th floor with an Uzima view, which was just terrific. My kids are now young adults and it was nice to have the space for all four of us without messing about in separate rooms and the kitchen made breakfast easy and efficient in the morning. Plus they could hang out at evening EMHs without waking us up ... big plus.

The resort itself is just stunning and unique. The animals outside are special but the whole facility is just top shelf. The theming is amazing. We truly enjoyed all of the restaurant options as well, sampling everything both Kindani and Jambo had to offer. Jiko is a stunner but I think my family would pick Boma as their favorite and the bread app at Sanaa as the single favorite menu item. Fair enough, they were all really good in their own way.

The single solitary downside is the distance from the Magic Kingdom area. We ended up taking a cab to a couple of ADRs which I figured would happen, but the time to get back to the room when you're dead on your feet at the end of a touring day is significant ... especially for a family more used to sticking to monorail loop resorts. Still, that's not a hidden issue or anything. It's just logistics. Overall it was a truly superior resort experience in every way.

Since you are just back - where there any zebras on Uzima? I know they move animals occasionally and in the past there have been a pair, but I think perhaps no zebras on Uzima presently?
Second question, how much where those cab rides? $20ish, $30ish?

No zebras on a typical day, although they did entice them over late one afternoon for some reason. Even without the zebras and giraffes we enjoyed the animals we did have. The huge cattle were fun

Cab rides were in the 20-25 range ... all on property.

Wow, I finally made it thru all 168 pages of reading! I can barely contain myself- We are staying at AKL the first time August 9-17 this year (76 long, long days away). It will also be our first time staying at a deluxe. I can't wait to surprise my daughter. She has only stayed at CBR and has no clue what is in store for her. I wanted to thank everyone for all the excellent advice as it has given me a greater understanding of to expect from room location to those pesky bus troubles. Can't wait to have my first zebra dome!

Ok, I've stayed at Jambo through a Disney reservation and had a Queen Room with Bunk Beds on the 3rd floor. Does anyone know if there are Bunk Bed rooms available through DVC on the higher floors ... or am I dreaming? I want to avoid the pull out sofa ...
