hello, hello :yay: we just changed from POR to AKL... our first stay on property... So excited :cool1: please add us to the list... February 2-8,2014... Thanks much... Looking forward to learning lots!

You will be there the same time we are :wave2:

Just got back from our split stay and 5 nights at AKV. We were in room 7516 in a 1BR Savannah view room. The room was beautiful and we absolutely loved the resort. The only bad thing is that we are officially ruined! I don't see many value stays in our future (sorry budget!) DD3 was crazy about the waterslide and the pool, we went to the pool every single day. My family also loved the 'drum cafe' (DH is a drummer and DD just loves to make noise). What an amazing resort, we were talking about how we'd love to go back and skip the parks entirely. Now I need to set a date and start saving :)

Our girls love it there too :cheer2: and I just had to say I love your goal for 2014 :thumbsup2 I'm a huge reader too

Morning Everyone... Happy Saturday!

Happy Saturday! :wave2:

It's raining like crazy here... I'm thinking about building an Ark and grabbing animals 2 by 2 :rotfl2:

Have a fabulous weekend pixiedust:

12 more days!!:cheer2:
We are more excited about the trip than we are Christmas!!:rotfl:
We have never stayed (or even visited) AKL or AKV and we can't wait. We also were able to book a FP+ lunch for BOG and a breakfast ressie for Boma for while we are there. :cheer2:
We will have our car with us. Do y'all recommend driving to the parks or taking the buses?:confused3

I know temperatures were crazy right? We just had a big line of storms with wind blow through.

Just wanted you to know we also switched our dates. We are now going July 29- August 5 @ AKL. We were going in June before.

Haven't stayed here in awhile so hopefully someone else will give you better info. We don't love the buses at any of the resorts but they are decent here. We don't really like using our car if we can avoid it while in disney (if we have one). If you are okay in general with the buses I would give it a try and then if you are not happy take your car.

The one thing I do remember clearly is a very long wait and ride to and back from downtown disney. It was absurdly long. I get the impression that's the same with any resort though.

I think my signature says oct. But we are going to be at akv-cl December 14-23. I am still walking the reservation(we own there) but since I am already walking it I don't think we will have a problem :)

Haven't stayed at akl/v in a long time. Our last stay was in 2011 I believe.

Hoping we are staying close enough to christmas to see some of the special things like the characters but also getting in a decent amount of lowish crowd park time.

Totally agree about Downtown Disney. Never take a bus if at all possible. I would probably bus it to the parks and use the car in the evening if you want dinner at resorts and stuff like that. That's our plan for when we stay at Kidani in March/April.

You will love Boma! And the Beast's castle is amazing!

We didn't have a problem with the buses but we were there in early Nov. I agree- try them and if it seems like you're waiting too long for your taste, take the car. We personally like to be in that "Disney bubble" and not have to worry about driving, but we did drive one morning to breakfast and mini golf and looking at resorts.

We had no issue with busses 2 weeks ago.

Sorry to say can you remove me from the March list - we switched over to Poly for this trip. No worries- we have 2 Boma breakfast ressies though during our Poly stay so we can get our AKL fix!! :cool1:

We stayed at Jambo house during F & W in october. We love AK but the buses were a nightmare. We gave up and drove quite a few times. If I wasn't disabled we would have walked to Kidani as it picks up there first. They were always full by the time they got to us!
