AKL LITE unofficial FAQ thread#10 - I believe that's known as a 'Jambo Dozen'

I was looking into the rooms myself (though I won't be staying at AKL until August) and I *think* only Club Level and DVC rooms have DVD players. I hope someone else can offer a more definitive response.

Count me in for October 25th to November 1st at AKV- Kidani! :goodvibes

Can anyone tell me off the top of their head if those staying at Kidani take the same bus from MK back to AKL, or are there separate buses for those at AKL and AKV? Anyone remember the bus number for each park, too, or do they change?

All the DVC units including the studios definitely have DVC players. I don't know about the hotel rooms as we have never stayed in one.

I'm wondering about DVD players in Deluxe Studio Savanna View rooms as well. We are doing P90X3 and are determined to continue while there. We'll be on day 72 when we arrive.......too close to quit!!!!!

If you still do it when your at Disney you are a beast! :hyper: Which is awesome and amazing!

Just verifying that all standard rooms come with a DVD player? It's not on the amenities list that I saw, but it does appear in photos of the rooms, even on the official Disney website.

Can anyone confirm this? Thank you!

Still no confirmation from anyone I guess :confused3

I'm thinking that in the standard non-CL rooms, there is no DVD player... on the official MDE website, I finally found this under the Club rooms amenities description: "Includes All Room Amenities, Plus: DVD Player" ... leading me to believe that regular non-CL rooms do NOT have one. Boo :worried:

We aren't big tv watchers normally, but after so much physical activity day after day, I thought it might be nice to entice the kids to just lie down and rest (like during our planned afternoon breaks back at AKL). Also, I've been trying to catch them up on Disney movies that would give them a broader/deeper appreciation of various rides and details. We saw Snow White last weekend - boy is that dated! (mainly Snow White's voice, ugh) - but it will make 7DMT more fun for them IF it's open by our visit next month!

Lots of speculation on another thread, but IMO comes down to this: the media event is May 2, so they will very likely have a "soft opening" (unannounced but open for some or all who are in the park at the time) anytime between now and then. As of May 2, MAYBE there will be FP+ available for it, but it's anyone's guess as to when they will be up on the MDE website/app. Certain crazy people (who me?) have been a bit obsessed with checking frequently :rolleyes1

After it's open, if you don't get a FP+ for it, you should beeline it there at RD or plan to wait a LONG time in line. At least from what I understand.

Re: the DVD player, I guess we'll just bring a laptop.

How crowded is the quick serve place (is it Mara?) in the morning? How early does it open?

My husband, daughter, and I are all low maintenance when it comes to breakfast. However, my 7yr old growing boy requires a full breakfast. He and I are both early risers so I usually handle taking him to breakfast when we travel as a family while the lazy ones sleep.

Pretty sure regular rooms, not talking about DVC/Club, do not have a DVD player. You can bring a portable one that hooks up to the TV. At least we have done that in the past. Heck, our current cell phones can hook to a TV via an HDMI cord (provided there is a port on the TV).

Don't you dare dis Snow White! ;) Sure, she's dated but goodness, think about the work that went in to drawing every single frame of that movie back in the 30's! No computer aided designs, nothing but pen to paper. Incredible feat. Much more so to me, than Frozen or Tangled. Granted, I love those movies but nothing tops Snow White.

Ha! I knew I was risking a reaction ;) ... honestly, the animation was definitely impressive, and I'd been wanting to (re-)watch it for a long time simply for the historical importance. I loved that aspect - the animation - and the dwarves are awesome. It was mostly SW's voice (speaking & singing) that was hard on our modern ears - isn't that interesting that our "taste" of what sounds good to our ears has changed so much?

I'm sure it'll be the new TSMM, only for MK. Something to definitely fuss over. Those with FP+ for it should immediately be tackling other rides that are in high demand to avoid lines or ride multiple times.

To another poster, I think Mara opens at 7:00AM, or at least that's what the Disney site says?

Still no news on the bus stations for AKL. Anyone know?

I gotta give you that one. Her voice is a bit hard to take for long.

It's the same bus, the park busses all stop at Kidani first, then Jambo. Both buildings still fall under the "AKL" heading for the busses. It was stop 16 from MK (I wouldn't remember if it wasn't two weeks ago) in the new expanded area. It's not the same number in the other parks. (From Hollywood Studios, it's the first one on the right side, maybe #8? Very convenient location there.) It's always best to look at the posted signs in case the # changes. As a side note, the DTD bus does the loop in reverse in that it stops at Jambo first then Kidani.

Thanks. Does anyone have a sense of how often buses to/from AKL are full? During our 6 night stay (5 days in parks), the overall crowd level will be 6-9 (according to EasyWDW). Do you think it's worth it to walk to Kidani to get that first bus? Or say, after Wishes, is the bus line really long to get back to AKL? Thx!

HUGE thank you. I just wanted to know above all if it was far back or not. AoA's bus number was 40 or 42 or something like that if I remember right in February at MK, and I ended up pulling a leg muscle my first day at the parks. The rest of the week was miserable trying to get to those buses.

Gah, I'm so freaking excited! Only another six plus months to go… sniffle!

Question; has anyone used the in-room dining at AKL? How was it, if you did? Thinking about breakfast.
