AKL LITE II - We're #2, but we try harder....

Hey, everyone! *waving* I wanted to pop in and say how much we enjoyed our trip to the AKL in January. It was our first trip after several years hiatus (we had booked a couple of times, but moved due to construction) and we fell in love with the Lodge all over again!

I was so interested in the Kidani construction, tried to get a close-up view of it, but was confounded by the way the buildings seem to hide from each other, lol. A CM told me on our last day that the best way to get a closer look was to go to the fire escape, but we didn't get time, I'm sorry to say. I'm so happy to hear that Sanaa may have lunch seatings, that is my one complaint at AKL - no sit-down lunch option!

Can't wait for our next visit!

torsie24 - lovely photos, what a beautiful parade!

Great to hear, that you enjoyed AKL! We really would not mind if you had any pictures to share! :goodvibes:goodvibes

I agree about Sanaa, it will be a fantastic addition to get at TS lunch at AKL!

Sanaa will serve lunch.:cool1:
huey posted the Disney press release about it yesterday.http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2137307

I agree that you can see Kidani fairly well from the stairwells. I also had a pretty good view by walking down Kudu Trail to one of the glassed in viewing areas.

Flossbolna - I will have to see if we have any photos of AKL in our January photo group. DD took all the photos, so I'm not sure what we have - if we have some, I'd be happy to share. I'm pretty sure we have shots of the lobby from the CL lounge, at least.

BCV23 - that is such good news about lunch at Sanaa! I hope I get back to the World soon to give it a try! (always a reason to return, huh?)

We tried to see Kidani from Kudu, but we wandered around for what seemed like ever, and saw a bit of the building, but not a good view. We must have missed the good viewing spot - we kind of got lost in the maze!:rotfl: Since we were staying on Zebra trail (and, in fact, nearly always do), that area seemed a bit foreign to us.

I mentioned free dining. And got a LOOK. My mom is no help - she says DH is probably right, waiting another year or so would be more practical, etc. She always has to "see it from his perspective...blah blah blah..."!!

That is the PITS :guilty:

Hey k&a&c'smom!! :wave2: So happy to see you here. This is SUCH a nice group and I KNOW how you love AKL :cloud9:

I'm thinking of booking 5 or 6 nights at AKL in early June. I can get a std room for 164/night w/ the passholder rate (vs. $290/nt. rack rate) :cheer2: for that price i almost don't feel guilty asking my DH, even though we just got back from WDW last week

I found a few photos, but I think you will be disappointed! Most of the photos of the lobby were very dark, for some reason, and we didn't take many of the room. I have some older photos, but my DD has them on her computer at college.
