All of Metro Atlanta is on Spring Break this week. I'm heading out with 2 teen girls to Tampa early tomorrow morning. I'm going to check out the zebra, giraffe, rhinos, lions, tigers, etc. at Busch Gardens!

I'm thinking I'll be spending lots of "alone" time this trip! (I wish Busch still had the *free* beer! )

It was an absolutely gorgeous day here in Virginia. When I picked Kristin up from work she could tell I was very stressed out over my computer (loooooonnnnggg story) so suggested we make an afternoon of it. Here is what we did!

This is a small winery in our area that has some decent wines as well as an area out in the vineyard where you can take a bottle and some cheese and crackers. We sat out there for almost 2 hours!

....wel-l-l-l-l, I guess you'll jes' have to try 'em fer yourself....

...actually, it doesn't really have any 'cakey' part to it - it's mostly a chocolate/mocha/coffee 'liqueur' type mousse with the outside layer you see that is striped...

Is Kidani going to have restaurants? (I'm assuming it will) If so you and DH could rope someone in to babysit Henry for a night, get a lovely meal over in Kidani together and maybe have a night in a studio there? Then you have stayed during this trip....

I think someone already answered this, but yep, Kidani will have one TS restaurant and a pool bar that is said to have some food.

I LOVE your idea of someone babysitting Henry and us getting a Studio for the night...I might have to see if I can figure that out!

Hi Brook, great to see you posting again! Hope you will feel better soon. I will definitely let you know about my strategy to convert my non-Disney-DBF!

New Year at WDW sounds exciting, I am not sure I would want to brave it!!! Jambo House is a great place to stay at and I personally like the layout much better than the long shape of Kidani. I also prefer to go direct from my bus stop to the theme park and not stop at another stop, I am impatient on the way to the parks!! And (I think this is the best reason for you to stay at Jambo House): it is the place where you spent your honeymoon!!

I was so busy last week, I could hardly DIS! Hopefully this week will be better.

New Years is gonna be NUTS. Our old December dates were much more bearable, including the Kennedy Space Center launch for Joe and a couple Jambo Wildbunch Gang DIS meets! I'm going to miss all that! BUT, it just works better with the whole family being for the new dates.

I love your point about us spending our honeymoon at AKL! Very good one!

I'm confused....ok, that's nothing new but....points are the same at Kidani as Jambo.

You pointed out a thing I failed to mention! They do have the same points, but we are going for a Value room, which is Jambo House.

Hi, brookelizabeth -- I'm not much help. I'd want to stay in Kidani too. But, Boma and Mara with the zebra domes are a huge draw.

I'm just trying to convince DH that we SHOULD by DVC. Not sure that's happening anytime soon, but he has at least thought about it some. I'm just happy he likes to go to WDW almost as much as I do.

The Mara being so close is huge. Our walks to SSR's Carriage House back in January were annoying that it was so far.

And Bomaaaaaaaaaaaaa...yum!

I hope you can swing DVC sometime! I've read some awesome deals on the re-sale board lately!!

I mentioned free dining. And got a LOOK. My mom is no help - she says DH is probably right, waiting another year or so would be more practical, etc. She always has to "see it from his perspective...blah blah blah..."!!

at least they are saying next year, so there is hope for a trip at some point!!!!!!!

I'm thinking of booking 5 or 6 nights at AKL in early June. I can get a std room for 164/night w/ the passholder rate (vs. $290/nt. rack rate) for that price i almost don't feel guilty asking my DH, even though we just got back from WDW last week

YOU ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD NEXT MONTH! I love it when I can finally reach that point. Then it's 3 weeks, then 2 weeks, then "next week"...love it!

Hmmm Disney over Christmas? Why Jambo House? Is Kidani all booked? If so, then I would book Jambo and then waitlist for Kidani.

We are aiming for a Value room to save more on the points because we plan to bring friends in 2010 too, so we'd need another 2 bedroom, and probably will want to do Savannah because there will be several kids involved. It's REALLY hard to get several days in a row at either Kidani or Jambo for those dates.

I am going to miss the DIS meet now too.
