The chinese was lovely thanks! :)

Hopefully the time difference is treating you all well and it'll be your weekends too soon ;)

How is the weather all with you? It's been horrible and cold and rainy here today. :( At least I have some sunshine guaranteed in Orlando in October!

Thanks...yes, that's the link. Since it's say all guests of AK Lodge and Villas I think it means guests of both the lodge and villas.:confused3 The pool hopping part is telling DVCers staying at other resorts that AKL&V (both Kidani and Jambo) aren't available for pool hopping.

Thanks again for the link.:goodvibes

I really don't want to appear as someone who tries to know everything better, but since I am a lawyer I guess I really cannot help myself, sorry! :goodvibes

The reason why I am in doubt is as follows. This is the text copied from the link: "will be open to all guests staying at either Kidani Village or Jambo House at Disney's Animal Kindom Lodge and Villas". The way I understand that AKV is structured is that Jambo House is the villas at the old AKL, i.e. the converted 6th und 5th floor. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas is the term for the whole hotel complex. So it can be read in the way that only those who stay in a DVC villa - no matter where the villa is located - will have access to the pool. Since the linked website indirectly quotes a Disney person and since it is a DVC website it might actually be possible, that this information is only valid for DVC guests. I must admit however, that this whole interpretation is very construed. And I think it would be a nightmare to enforce this policy, s I think it is very unlikely. Also, so far I don't think that the pool area itself looks so much better than the old AKL pool which I find quite gorgeous! The water play area might be fun for kids, but it is not going to be a mini-water-park like at the BC. Still I hope it will be open for all AKL and AKV guests!!!!

I thought you really ought to order African, not Chinese, to stay OT!! :rotfl2: But then I remembered that this would possibly to much of a hint since you want to keep it a secret!! :goodvibes Hope you had a fabulous start into the weekend!

For those of you who want to go to Disneyland, they announced some hotel savings & deals on the Podcast yesterday. Summer travels, free nights, just though someone might want this info!:)

I would love to go!! :yay::yay: I saw the special offer on mousesavers, but I don't think I would spend five nights at DL... If I sit on a plane for 12 hours to California, there is so much I want to see there, DL would have to do with 2 days or so...

Interesting about the pool question. I can see how it can, on paper, be read both ways.
Does anyone know, when you stay at WL are you allowed to use the VWL pool? I know it's dinky and not comparable but still...

Hopefully there will be plenty of "pool" to go around at AKL. I LOVE the Uzima Spring pool so much :cloud9:

It would be nice to get to try the other pool, I suppose. Since you'd have to take a bus to get there, I would think most people would stick with the closer one. But it's always nice to try something new (only if it were allowed, of course). Since we're going in April, we'll miss out on getting to look at the new Kidani bldg & pools.

I was thinking that - I'll go have a walk over for sure, but getting back to AKL soggy - wither by foot or bus seems a bit far for the same swim you can have for closer at Uzima.

It's the weekend here too now!:cool1: It is cold and dreary here with 2-4 inches of snow predicted for tomorrow.:scared1:

Glad dinner was lovely.:goodvibes

Don't worry about it. Lots of lawyers in our families so I'm used to and enjoy discussing interpretations.:goodvibes

And here's mine: in DVC speak Jambo House doesn't seem to mean just the villas. The term is used for all the amenities in the original Lodge including the pool, restaurants, etc..

All guests is rather clear language it seems to me especially when it refers to Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas. If the CM meant to exclude the Lodge guests, the word Lodge would have been eliminated.

:rotfl:

Don't know about VWL pool.:confused3

I would think most wouldn't bother either. The Kidani pool area is quite a hike from Jambo House.

Thanks for the heads up on DL deals. :thumbsup2

;)....

I'm so happy that we're back on the resorts board where we belong.

Hi there!! You are the one who keeps changing her resort, aren't you?? :goodvibes: goodvibes So the next trip is at SSR, not AKL??? :goodvibes

BVC23, I can see your argument. Since I am not a DVC owner, I might really have read to much into the Jambo House term. :goodvibes Personally, I would really prefer it to be open to all guests at both parts of the resort. I seem to remember that at one point there was a rumor that Kidani might as a whole only be open to DVC members. Since they are taking reservations for Sanaa now, this obviously was not going to happen!!

The weather system that's wreaking havoc in Kansas now (blizzard conditions????) is heading toward Georgia for tomorrow - but it will be rain, wind, possibly thunderstorms and a slight possibility of a tornado or 2. We've had plenty of rain the past 3 days -- the ground just can't hold anymore.

I'm sure you've all heard about the flooding in Fargo, ND & Moorhead, MN. I think they need our prayers and good thoughts. Unfortunately, they haven't seen the worst of it yet. Our daughter, Rachel, was born in Fargo - we feel a strong affection for that area. :grouphug:

I agree with BCV23 about the pools. We'll all know for sure in about a month! :goodvibes

We sure are all having wacky weather! It is 57 and drizzly here and we are to get those thunderstorms tomorrow too. Thanks for sharing, Laura!

OK, October Jambo-ettes... myBob says to tell you that he is the "original" Bob and even if you name your DH Bob it won't be the same. ;) (I did tell him that Diana's Bob might have a disagreement about that)

Also, he wonders if we would all like to eat dinner together that Saturday night? Or do you have other thoughts about that?

All DVC resorts will have non-DVC guests staying there so they realistically could never say "DVC Only". There are a certain number of rooms that do not belong to DVC members, they're retained by Disney for paying guests (through Disney's reservation system). I don't remember the percentage offhand; do any of you other DVCers know? Also, DVC turns rooms over to Disney which are then booked through CRO and can not be rented using DVC points. (I probably didn't explain that too well! :rotfl:)

Well, I've only stayed on the Sunset Savannah. They had feeding areas in the trees for the giraffes that got them close to our windows for viewing (and I guess for the overlook as well ) -- so maybe they would on the other areas. :confused3

This has been our experience on Sunset as well.
We've stayed savannah view many times and always seen plenty of animals when we've been around long enough to observe... The late afternoon feeding from the jeep is always our fave. There were once so many animals we couldn't believe it! :earseek: (from Kudu Trail on Arusha Savannah last July)

Having done the Wanyama twice, I know that there is browse in many different areas for the animals... I can't imagine what the poster BCV23 read was referring to re. Kudu Feeding Station?? Sorry I never attempted an answer BCV23

I think your Bob wins as the original Bob -- we'll use the wives "Join Date" as the prerequisite!!

Jack bought some crazy running/hiking/climbing/WDW shoes today:

vibram_fivefingers_kso-400-400.jpg

Wierd huh? He's wanted them for ages though.

You guys are right about DVC not jsut being for owners, looking on the UK WDW site, I could have booked a stay at SSR/OKW for the same price I've paid for AKL for my upcoming trip (or AKV for more ££)- so I would get to use the DVC pools, and would presumably just have a reguler KTTW and nothing to show my DVCship if only DVC owners could use a certain pool....

Laura - hope you don't get any flooding!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Luckily we live on a big hill, I am very scared of floods!
