Can a king bed be requested in a standard view room?

I think the "king bed" rooms are the handicapped rooms.

Last Sept we had a pool view room booked. The young man checking us in gave us a king bed which was great but it was also a handicapped room. Which means no tub and the bar in the closest was low. It was not a big issue and having the king bed was nice but sometimes I like to take a nice long relaxing bath on vacation and I could not do that in this room.

I am being long winded but before you request a king bed room ask if all king bed rooms are also the handicapped rooms.

I just requested a king bed for our up coming July trip. When I requested it no one mentioned antyhing about it being handicapped. Also, on the Disney website you can request a king bed and it doe not say anything aout those rooms being handicapped.

I hope that they aren't becasue we are traveling with 3 small children and definately need a bath tub.

If no one here knows for sure, you may need to call the resort to ask. I know at WL there are accessible rooms rooms with king beds (& no tubs) but there are other plain King rooms. I don't think there are many though!

I am planning to look into this closer to our trip (sept), as we are in a similar situation. We would like a king bed, but we really need a tub. Unless we decide not to bathe DS for 3 days :D

We stayed at AKL and had a king bed room. It was Savannah View. Nobody said anything about king rooms being handcapped when we requested (CRO and at checkin)

It was a handicapped equipped room, but had a full bathtub.

We requested a king bed room at AKL. Ours was a handicapped room with a wheelchair-accessible shower and no tub. Since I am a soak-in-the-tub person we asked to be moved. They didn't offer another king room (probably all taken) so we had two queen beds instead. It was worth it for the tub.

We had requested a room with a king sized bed for our trip in May...we didn't get our request and ended up with a room with 2 queens (which in a standard room doesn't leave much floor space). However, we really like the constant variety of animals so didn't fuss about being changed.

The CM at the desk said most rooms with king beds are handicapped rooms...there are very few with tub/shower baths.
