AKL Jambo House - Animal noises inside room?

My sister and her family are thinking about staying at AKL Jambo house, and she was wonderiing about the noise inside the room. One of her sons is autistic and has issues with noise at times. Obviously, there is noise when you walk out on the balcony in a savannah view but how about when the doors are closed? I think he would be fine as long as he can't hear anything with the door closes, and her other son would love seeing the animals outside his room! Is there much noise with the door closed compared to any other resort?

Also, I just read they are going to be renovating the rooms at Jambo while they would be visiting. Would that be an issue regarding noise inside the room? Also, they wouldn't block the savannah view in those room categories, would they? They definitely don't want to pay for that view and then not have animal views.

We’ve never experienced any animal noise at AKL. Maybe because the animals don’t have predators and food is delivered on a regular schedule. Definitely bring noise canceling headphones …. You never know when music gets loud or show sets off fireworks. MK is by far the most unpredictable park for loud noises that bother my autistic grandson.

Have you heard how typical it is to be seeing animals with the Savannah view? Is it basically all day?

Not guaranteed to be all day. The animals are called in at various times in the morning to have health checks, and when out they're free roaming so might not be outside your room at all times. The keepers do a good job of placing food in various places around the savanna, so if you spend several daylight hours, morning and afternoon, in your room, you should see animals. The animals are allowed to spend the night on the savanna if they wish, but they're hard to see in the dark!

And of course the species you'll see will vary depending on which savanna your room looks onto.

I’ve been tempted to try, but AKL seems so far from everything, and I’m worried we wouldn’t be spend a lot of daytime resort time to see the animals.

I know what you mean! However, there are plenty of viewing areas around the resort, so you could book a resort view room to save the $$ while still enjoying views of the animals when you were there. DH and I are at a point where we spend more time in the room and less time in the parks, so we really enjoy AKL.

I feel like I'm maybe in the minority, but for a busy trip where you don't spend a lot of time at the resort, I really didn't feel like savannah view was worth the extra money. We saw animals a few mornings before we left, but that's about it.
That said, I LOVE AKL as a resort, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat I just wouldn't pay extra for a view - if/when we want to see animals, I'd go to one of the viewing areas. I personally don't think AKL feels too out of the way at all, busses were always expedient. And on a down day, AKL offers so many unique activities for the kids, and the Kidani pool/splash pad is amazing too.

For noise. The only request is away from the elevators. There are Mid hotel elevator Banks and the rooms next to will hear the elevators moving as well as people getting on and off for the rooms near. We have never heard noise in the rooms otherwise even the Savannah is quiet. As far as seeing animals well birds are animals but of you want to see all of them outside go to the main viewing area speak to a guide and they will tell you the best time to see the animals on the section your room overlooks. As mentioned, the Animals are feed in different areas however they are all free roaming so not uncommon to see some at any time.
