We arrive at AKL on Tuesday, June 26th. I just found out about the construction today and I'm in a panic. My dh booked this trip a little over a month ago, and didn't see a word about construction.

We have a savannah view. That's all I know. Is anyone at AKL now that can tell me how the construction is affecting their vacation?

DH called Disney today and all they would offer him as a switch was something at GF for $1100 more. YIKES! He didn't switch.

Thanks for any info!!!

we just got back last night, we had the sunset savannah view. We had the constuction right out side of our balcony. You could not hear it at all if you were in your room. If you went out side to sit you could see and hear a little of it, believed it was the work of the new animal house. The construction on the fifth floor heard no noise coming from it, it was covered by a black drop- cloth, and there was guards stationed by the stairs for everyones safety. You will have a great time at the resort. We loved waking up in the morning a going to the balcony and looking at the animals, and coming back in the afternoon and seeing them again.

Thanks so much for the reply, castawaymam. My kids are REALLY looking forward to seeing the animals from our room, and we were afraid that the construction noise would scare them away.

I'm glad that the construction didn't put a damper on your trip!

I'm thinking the resort will be a lot less crowded, since they are working on all of those rooms.

Just back; we were in 2 rooms on the Kudu Trail; Arusha Savanna view (both were standard CL rooms). Our view was really good and the only time we heard any noise was in the lobby one day when we came back during the day. The construction (other than the new barn on the Sunset Savanna side) is on the 5th and 6th floors from the center of the resort around all of the Zebra Trail. The Concierge Lounge is currently on the 5th floor in what was the Presidential Suite; was told they will be there about 3 months.
