We had a deluxe room with a pool view (Labor Day Weekend) and we loved it!!!! Of course, we only booked a standard room. We did not have concierge service, but we were on the fifth floor. The actual lounge is on the 6th floor. We loved our view because we saw all the action of the resort and we were right by the elevators that led to the restaurants, lobby, pool area. Very convenient. We also overlooked the lobby. After seeing the savannah, I don't know if I would want a savannah room. I didn't tell my DS anything about the views, since I thought I'd be looking at a parking lot. We did see animals from other parts of the resort.
I would just request a savannah view, with a fax maybe stating that this is a special trip for such and such reason. If they aren't filled up, maybe you will have a better chance of getting it.
