AKL Club level worth it?

Hubby has decided that he wants to go to WDW for our 20th anniversary next year. Yay! We own at AKL and I was considering trying for a Club level studio. It would be 125 points for our stay, versus 102 for a savannah view or 69 for a value studio. I LOVE having a savannah view, and I know we would not have that with Club level (or at least not a very good one).

Is it worth the extra points? I only have 100/year and would be borrowing from 2017 for this.

I have booked 3 Concierge level stays, and I think they were all worth it. We enjoyed the offerings. We had a roof view once, partial Savannah view twice.

You can make any stay special, value, Savannah, standard, concierge. I wanted to do something extra for a very good friend, who was one year sober, and I booked Club level for that stay with her. It made the trip extra memorable.

Congratulations to you and your DH, however you decide!

I say don't expect much, try it for yourself and you never have to go back again.

IMO the views are the worst, the service just so-so. Issues that we have had during four stays, the food not being replaced in the lounge, concierge giving out wrong info, missing turn down service, and a defrosted studio fridge that left water across the entry floor and a faucet in the sink that was loose. Maintenance use our clean bath towels to mop up, wiped out the refrigerator with the towel after he wiped the floor and we had to call for fresh towels. Each stay we said to ourselves, isolated incidents, give them another try. We did, no we won't be back.

If you had the points and didn't need to borrow, I would say it was worth it but not if you have to borrow to do it. We have stayed club level twice and enjoyed it but it definitely wasn't anything over the top. I would only do it if you have points to spare.

Well I vote, yes, do it, if you can get it. You will always wonder if you missed something if you don't. And as previous poster said, do it once, and you don't have to do it again if you don't find it worth it. Your anniversary, and it is a special "plus", I think you will enjoy. I love cappacinos, so that machine in the lounge was enough to make it worth it for me. I don't drink alcohol, but others enjoy the wine or beer, and liqueur selections in the evening. Don't do the dining plan, just do a couple nice dinners out of pocket, and enjoy lunch out or in your room, and have breakfast and dessert in the lounge. Schedule a massage if you can afford it, or maybe a round of golf or parasailing (they have doubles parasailing,, or they used to). Enjoy the beautiful resort, and each other, and the life you spent the last 20 years building together. Leave the parks for next trip, and you can try to get value studio then, and points will be fine. If you can't get a whole week, get as many nights as you can, and other category the other nights. You will need to "walk" it to get the reservation. I think you will really enjoy whatever you can get.

Thanks very much for the all the comments. I mentioned it to the hubby last night and he watched several reviews on YouTube and got really excited about it. We do plan on making this a relaxing trip, so less park time. Based on the comments and video reviews I think this is a great plan!

My 11 month window opened this morning and I was insanely lucky and was able to get 6 of the 7 nights in a Club level studio! I booked the other one in a value studio and put in a waitlist. :)

Congrats on getting the six nights! Club level will let you use the lounge for the evening you are in the value studio if you have to use it.

Not an owner at AKL but may still buy a few points there to try for club some times. I've stayed club at AKL for short 2-3 day stays several times.

I've had excellent service on each visit. Club staff have been fun and helpful. Check in is seated with a beverage offered.
Easily worth an extra point to me. Met and escorted up when you arrive. No standing in line - although online check in now helps with that for other resorts. You sit while they help you with magic bands, dinner reservations, magic express changes - whatever you need. They'll continue working on issues while you go to your room or get a refreshment from the lounge.

The lounge is enjoyable to have as a place to get coffee, a glass of wine, a beer, a snack, fruit, or a sweet treat - nothing over the top as previously suggested, but super convenient. For example, I'm a BWV and BCV owner - if I want milk for my cereal, I have to walk to screen door or bring it with me. At AKL, a few steps to the little fridge. Worth 2 extra points to me.

And, the elevator is right there. No trucking 50 miles down the hall to get to your room - that's worth 2 extra points per night sometimes.

So worth it to me. But I'm not looking for a Grand Floridian experience....although my family found the Grand to be lacking. Cost at AKL vs cost at GF is what made the Grand a lacking experience.

So if you decide to cancel, I may be stalking for a room, lol.

Is that value night, your last night? Since you get CL privileges until midnight the day you check out we always switch that last night and save the points. All you miss is just 1 CL breakfast. Just FYI, we are here now so if you have any questions please let me know.
