Excuse me if this question is already answered somewhere on these boards.

WE are staying at the AKL savannah view March 13-16, we got a great rate through the SOG.

We have 3 children with us and I was wondering what would be the best rooms to try and request for that trip.

Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you::MinnieMo

The most popular seems to be Zebra Trail overlooking the Arusha Rock Savannah. We stayed there and it was wonderful. Here's a detailed map with savannah locations... hope it helps!!

I actually think I prefer the Zebra trail overlooking the Uzima savannah. It faces east so gets the morning sun and has fewer trees close to the building to block out views if you are in higher rooms. -HM

Hi,

I have to agree with kdibattista-- we stayed on the second floor in the second building out from the lobby area facing the Arusha Savannah. It was wonderful. We didn't have far to walk to the restaurants/pool/bus stop, and we had a terrific view of the animals.

We had three rooms, one with a queen and bunk beds, one with a king bed, and one with two queens. They were all very nice rooms.

You'll love AKL-- it's really a special place.

Thanks everyone for the information. The zebra trail sounds like the one we will request. I just hope that we can get it.

Can't wait to see the AKL!!

I don't want to

about this but.... Kudu Trail rules. :p

Why you ask?

Well, the view over Arusha is very nice (the same as Zebra) but also when you are walking down the trail you have the large windows that overlook the Sunset Savanna.... here there is a great view of ostriches.

Last time we stayed on Zebra and never got around to walking over to Kudu... but by staying on Kudu, you have a chance to see the ostriches (and the rest of the animals on the Sunset Savanna) all the time.

Also, there seems to be a lot more foot traffic on Zebra as the pool is that way, Kudu was very quiet.

Also, if your room is on the 5th floor you get to walk across that cool rope bridge (that spans the lobby) all the time.

No duel here! LOL.

I will say that there were quite a few people walking by in the hallway whenever we went out of our room on the Zebra Trail. It didn't bother us, though. I'm sure Kudu is really nice too-- and either trail is certainly better than the grey cubicle I'm sitting in right now. Sigh.

Now to close my eyes and dream of AKL...
