The policy depends on the hotels also. Disney hotels make it impossible to have a family of five in a normal hotel room if some of them are over 18. We stayed at the Marriott in Savannah with 2 adults and 4 children. They were very happy to just give us a rollaway at no cost and no hassle with no extra charges. Most hotels are like this. There was plenty of room too. There is no reason to charge $15 or $25 for more than 2 adults in a room, but more hotels than just Disney do it. If it is because you require more bedding or towels that's ridiculous. My family is me and 2 daughters. Upon arrival we request 4-5 more pillows and extra towels every time. So that theory is blown. They should charge by the ROOM not the people. 4 people in 2 queen size beds is normal and just because it's 4 adult people is ludicrous. I am sure that many people book 1 room for 4 people, regardless of the ages. I am upset now because my daughters are 17 and turn 18 in November. So pretty soon I am going to have to pay $15 or $25 for one of them when they are getting the same amenities they have always had when they were 10. But, that is the rule and that is what I will abide by. The thought of someone finding out and confronting me about it would just about embarrass me to death.....besides if you can even afford to stay at a Deluxe or Mod to begin with, the extra charge is a moot point right? Oh well, just lucky I can afford to go at all.
