I finally tabbed an adr for akershus but I'm having second thoughts. Which location has better food? We are already doing crt and 1900 but my DD loves mulan.

Mulan is not always at Akershus.

IMO Crystal Palace has more interesting/better breakfast food.

I can't comment on whether it's better or worse, but how can it possibly be more interesting? Judging from the vague menus, it's American vs American & Scandinavian.

We preferred the food at Crystal Palace, much more variety. Specifically I remember CP had Mickey waffles and made to order omelets, but Akershus didn't. We were also very happy that we could get all the food ourselves at CP whereas at Akershus we were at the mercy of our inattentive waitress for the major foods(bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, & sausage). When we were at Akershus it was the same princesses as CRT except it had Belle instead of Jasmine. Mulan was not there, so I think as a previous poster stated, seeing her is not guaranteed.

Thanks everyone! I'll be back on the hunt for an early cp adr. Geez, what a newbie mistake! We are on the DDP but would be out of credits by that day so I might just enjoy more park time and pick up a sleepy hollow waffle instead.

I enjoy Akershus better, but if you already have 1900 PF and CRT you may want CP for character variety. I will say that the food comes to you at Akershus, and that is always a bonus for my family.

Mulan is easy to visit in China, and she is wicked sweet!

I vote CP - different characters, and for us we like a assortment of choices and the buffet is very good at breakfast in my opinion.

At Akershus it basic breakfast, family style, platter of scrambled eggs, potatoes, and sausage. It really is all about the princess here, but you seem to have them covered with you other 2 ADR's.

I think they both have very good food. I love the potatoes at Akershus.

Whatever you decide, don't cancel your Akershus ADR until you are very positive that is what you want to do. It is a highly sought after reservation, and odds are once you cancel it you won't get it back.

I would look at what you have and then prioritize what you want to do. Maybe paying oop for one TS,... the less expensive one, such as the Plaza ( DH and I shared the meatloaf here), Sci -fi( DD and I have shared the pasta, and burger before), and use a snack credit later on for dessert..... When paying oop you can do some different less traditional options such as ordering several appetizer to share, Rainforest, T-Rex, ( Nacho's and the tower appetizer thing) Spice Road Tables are our favorite spots to share.... anywhere that they serve pasta, normally the portion is so huge you can easily share, Tutto, Portobello. Check out the menus here and over on allears this makes it easier to figure out where you want to use your credits and where to pay oop .

Have a magical trip.

We like Crystal Palace the best. Food was so much better at CP, and we love Pooh and friends.

Akershus breakfast is not especially Scandinavian.

As others have alluded to, at CP there's a build-your-own omelet station. There is breakfast lasagna. There is Pooh French Toast.

Akershus is a pretty standard American offering for the hot stuff. There's a little Scandinavian flavor on the buffet, but it's not as if they're serving knäckebröd with kalles, or smörgås. They're not even serving up "fake" Swedish breakfast by offering Swedish pancakes (which Swedes don't eat for breakfast; they like oatmeal more frequently).

OH, for the days when they had a choice of herrings. Do they no longer have any fish at breakfast?

Crystal Palace has better atmosphere (though Akershus is nice, too). There's just something special about Crystal Palace in the morning with all that glass: so light and airy, Victorian. It has the Magic Kingdom feel more than any other restaurant. The Pooh characters are great, and if you're lucky, you might get a castle-view table.

The food is about the same quality at both. Maybe a bit more variety at Crystal Palace in terms of the American items you can choose from.

I would do Crystal Palace. I love the breakfast there, and you're already doing a princess meal. You can always meet Mulan in China when you're at Epcot.

We've met Mulan several times at the China pavilion and never had to wait more than a few minutes in line.

We definitely preferred the food at Akershus however didn't dislike Crystal Palace. It just seemed a little more generic.

We love breakfast at Akershus! The food was so much better than CRT. Actually the whole experience was way better than CRT. We do enjoy CP, but Akershus is our absolute favorite. We loved the food and we were able to ask for mickey waffles there. The cold buffet was great and the hot foods brought to the table were really good! We won't go back to CRT, but wouldn't hesitate to go back to Akershus or CP.

don't count out a later breakfast (brunch ;) ) at CP. Also Lunch at CP is a great break in the day. What is your DD's better meal, my kids lunch was the best meal of the day

As pp's have said, Mulan's not usually at Akershus
-I personally like Akershus WAY better, we've usually had better service, better character interaction, and I like the different styles of food. CP seems to recently have gone down in quality of their food. HECK, our first trip, they had chocolate mickey waffles! Haven't seen those since. We find the service slacking more at CP too.

We enjoy breakfast at Akershus but prefer Crystal Palace. We've always had better service and better character interactions at CP and enjoy the larger selection- create your own omelet, pooh's puffed toast, Mickey waffles, etc.

I would definitely try to meet Mulin in the world showcase- we had to wait about 30 mins during spring break to meet her but had a wonderful interaction. I hear it's pretty rare to have her at Akershus.
