I had the hardest time deciding between Akershus and Garden Grill. We finally decided Garden Grill because of the family friendly menu and classic characters. But, yesterday, I added a day to our trip - which means another table service. Woohoo!

So, should we:
A) Eat at Garden Grill for lunch on our Epcot day and then a counter service in World for dinner. Then for our Hollywood day, eat Sci-Fi for lunch with a counter service dinner.
or
B) Use 2 table services in Epcot (Garden Grill 11a & Akershus 7p) and use 2 counter services during our visit to Hollywood Studios.

Some more info: My family consists of me, DH, DD4, and DS2. DD and I are a bit pickier and my husband and son are adventurous eaters.

We would go with Akershus and Sci-Fi, and skip Garden Grill. There's nothing wrong with GG; we just like the other two better. The food and atmosphere/characters are great at Akershus, and Sci-Fi is just super cool.

Hi there! What exciting choices!

For me personally, I would go for option B. With the ages of your wee ones, I think your daughter would get so much out of being able to see all of the Princesses at Akershus. Sci-Fi is incredible, probably one of my favorite places to eat, but it is very dark and some of the movie images can be a bit scary for very tiny ones. I think it is a restaurant best saved until kids are slightly older.

I would go with B. (Though I would also drop GG and pick something else, it was easily the worst meal we've had anywhere at Disney).

I'm so sad to read these comments about GG! I really want to dine with Mickey, Pluto, Chip, & Dale - and I <3 turkey, rolls, mashed potatoes, & sweet potato fries. It seemed like a match in heaven.

I was wondering about this when I read about the movie clips being played. My son is scared of the shark in the Little Mermaid. :/

Is there a place in Hollywood you guys recommend - counter or table? We've only eaten at Hollywood & Vine - never again. It was crazy loud chaos with not good character experiences.

I'd go with option A, GG & SciFi. The clips at scifi are extremely cheesy. If your 2 yr old is very very sensitive, then perhaps he'll get frightened. But we go to scifi every year, I see a lot of wee ones/tots and I have yet to see any of them freak out. Im not saying it doesnt happen. But you know your kid best. SciFi has a very unique theme. Your kids will get a kick out of sitting/eating in the cars.

I found the movie clip for you on youtube! Here ya go. Maybe you can show this to your son and see how he reacts?

I'd suggest you check out the menu at Akershus if you have picky eaters. We are not fans of the menu, neither of my kids ate there and we had to stop in the American adventure and grab QS meals afterwards. I personally would go with option A. We also love GG, it's a must do because of the family friendly menu, like you said and it's quieter than most places. We also love sci fi. My 7 yo who is afraid of her own shadow ( dumbo ride is scary) never thought the movies were scary, it was her first pick of ADRs after playhouse Disney breakfast.

We did all three of these within this past week and while we did enjoy them all. My two favorites were garden grill & akershus. We thought the food was surprisingly good at both. I had picked akershus because of the princesses. But I loved the food. My husband was super excited about the salmon in the buffet. And garden grill was also very good. We had so much food and plenty of choices. We loved it as well. Chip and dale are so funny. Sci fi was good as well. But the food was just so so. Good milkshakes and atmosphere. But defiantly would pick the other two :) but my husband and I are not picky eaters at all. But my sister in law was with us. And she is very picky (chicken or nothing) And she was able to find something at all of them.

Oh and just a tip. If you go to garden grill. Ask for the toppings/sauces on the side. They bring them in little gravy boats and then you can try them. Instead of the food already being covered in it. Good for any picky or people who just want to try a bit :teeth:

I looked at the dinner menu and there are 2 things I'll eat. The kid's menu has pizza - just don't tell DD there's cheese on it! ;)

And garden grill was also very good.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! It's something I really want to try and I've read some recent reviews from people that like it. I'll definitely ask for the sauce on the side because I like plain! Thanks for the tip :)

We do enjoy GG, although we like the others better. As for another TS option in HS, 50s Prime Time has good food and is great fun. Take a look at their menu.
